Review content:
My son attend Chesapeake Children's Academy when he was 1 years old, and I would recommend this day care to anyone. Its family run. The owner is a lady with a real enthusiasm for children. She loves what she does, and she does a good job at it. Her husband is a man with a gentle spirit who is working on his masters in child development (I think it's his masters--I may be wrong on that). They work with several other employees, so the child to caretaker ratio is very good. The facilities are great. The walls are painted in bright colors, everything is kept clean and in good condition. There is a large shaded play area outside--and the children spend a good deal of time outside when the weather permits. They do crafts with the children each day, have healthy meals, and send home daily reports on how the children are doing. One thing that impressed me is that my son rarely got sick while he was there--they do a good job of making sure that germs don't spread from child to child. They have flexible hours--there is a 10 hour maximum each day, but you can pick up your child as late as 8:00, which is nice if you have an evening job. They do watch a little bit more TV there than I would like--mainly in the mornings when children are being dropped off and evenings after most of the children have left. Other than that, I have no complaints.
