Review content:
I first went to San Diego with my fiance two years ago and we stayed at the Manchester Grand. If you walk out the back and down the stairs, you're transported to a quaint little area where people can be seen strolling around just taking in the view (and perhaps a Ben n Jerry's ice cream cone or two!). There are a variety of shops and restaurants there (some of which boast the best lobster bisque I've ever had! (and I don't even like sea food!)). Its a great place to buy anything, from touristy stuff to beautiful silver pieces, or even stop by the Harley store over there! If you're not in the mood to sit down and eat at one of the restaurants along the marina (to which I say, you're missing out!), you can go to the food court area and pick from a variety of small vendors. I also think it's great that Seaport Village has a map you can print out to help you locate certain shops, and if you sign up for their newsletter you even get coupons for some of the shops there. It's definitely a nice way to spent the day if you're not interested in the hustle and bustle of the Gaslamp District. Even if you don't want to spend too much time there, an hour or two of your time will let you take in a lot of what it has to offer! Parking is usually not an issue, and you get free parking for a few hours with validation from the shops or restaurants! Pros: Great view of the marina, variety of shops, parking Cons: Needs to be open longer!
