As a loyal patient and friend of Dr. Frenchman for over 20 years I now feel compelled to put the board certification matter to rest. Dr. Frenchman passed his written boards many years ago with flying colors but then waited on his oral boards. For the orals in plastic surgery you have to submit a portfolio of your work and be prepared to answer questions about it. By the time Dr. Frenchman went for his orals , over 90% of his practice had become cosmetic (instead of reconstructive) - He was criticized for this and was offended, and has not been back since. Fortunately he goes 100% by referrals and reputation and always has .
If you are one of those people who chooses their doctor over the internet then let me just say this: I have worked with Dr. Frenchman as an OR nurse so have seen his work first hand and he is true perfection and grace. He really is an artist and is one of the most hightly trained people I have ever met. He trained in general surgery, neurosurgery, and orthopedic surgery and finally settled on plastics. In addition to being double trained both in India and the US he then did an additional year and a half at Straith Hospital which is world renowned for cosmetic surgery. And of course he is an associated member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
He has done countless corrections of botched up surgeries from board certified surgeons and I was one of them-went to 2 ENTs and 1 plastic surgeon to try to fix my nose and finally I met Dr. Frenchman who let me breath again.
So there you have it. Why am I going through this trouble? Because he is an amazing surgeon and human being who deserves the utmost respect. I owe him everything for what he did for me , not to mention countless favors for friends and family of mine.
