Businiess name:  Urban Roadhouse

Review content:
I have found a new 'favorite spot!' I had been referred to Urban Roadhouse by a friend who raved about this 'homey cafe', but because of the fact they are not open past 7pm weekdays & 3pm weekends, it never seemed to work out for me to go. I finally had the chance to check it out, and I'm very glad I did! So, what is so great about Urban Roadhouse? From the second I walked in the door, I knew I had found a new "TOP SPOT" to frequent. The coffee is great (it is from Bongo Billy's, a small batch Colorado roaster), but that is just the tip of the iceburg. I had a chance to chat with Marty, one of the owners, and was warmly welcomed. I had a great espresso milkshake, and got some work done on their free WiFi. In the back, there is a cozy little area with a TV and seating that would be a great spot for a group to hang out or meet. The entire place is very tastefully decorated, giving a nice feel that successfully built on the historic roots of this old building with its exposed brick & wood floors, and fused that with some great contemporary accents and fun decor. On the wall above the kitchen/bar area are postcards sent by customers, who send them from their destinations all over the US and abroad. When they return, they are rewarded with a free coffee. This is a neat concept that really reflects the great community atmosphere that has been created here. It is a bit cliche, but I'm reminded of the "Friends" coffee house, or even "Cheers... where everybody knows your name..." (Now I'll have that song stuck in my head... but you get the point. There is a real feeling of community here). With a great eat-in or take-out menu (that constantly changes - this month's food theme is Philadelphia, featuring great Philly cheesesteaks. Last month's menu featured New Orleans fare), this is far more than just a coffee house. I know I'll be back for more! I don't usually "rate" the places in this blog, but this one gets 10 out of 10! :-) When I look at the quality of any coffee house, I look at three areas: 1) Service, 2) Product, and 3) Atmosphere. Urban Roadhouse scores a home run in all three of these areas!!
