for Sarasota, Nuovo is OK. Not particularly gay friendly but not gay averse. Downtown branch really annoying for the tendency to overly pamper the rich/old/high maintenance blondes at the expense of the rest of us (appointments were ALWAYS late, for me--a grey haired middle class middle aged lesbian--while the hairburner spent additional time with some well maintained trophy wife). Really hate that, and go to Landings branch instead. Which is much better and less snooty. For the money they could learn to hate gays less, though.
