II am disabled with severe medical conditions. I have more experience with doctors and health care situations than I hope many would ever have.
Earlier, I read some of the other comments about billing or professional office staff and grimaced.
My word, I hope these folks never have to deal with a severe medical situation -- they'd pull out their hair in frustration for the uncaring people they will find throughout the course of their treatment other than at Women’s Primary Care.
Because for folks like me and you, Sandy and her gracious, friendly, caring team of professionals that take to heart the Hippocratic oath and view themselves as Healers not as medical people in it for a profit, are there to help us get better and stay better.
I thrive in the atmosphere at WPC's office. Yes, it may be a little less cold and clinical than other places, but you find caring for you as a person; you don’t find judgment; you find willingness to help you if you need it; and best of all, after a pelvic, you get a warm cotton washcloth and towel. See, you are a person and are treated as they would want to be treated too.
I have been seeing Dr. Hoyte since 2004. I come from a family of physicians, and my sister, a physician, referred me to her. She is an EXCELLENT physician and a caring Healer. I know most of her staff by name and they know me. Some come and go, as Sandy also extends her caring to her employees as well as her patients. Not something anyone has told me, but something you observe over the years.
As far as office staff is concerned, some folks have appeared to come from challenging circumstances -- dealing with crises in their lives and working to overcome them. So, sometimes, given an assist from this office, they may not have been first choice by other offices, but that spirit of healing extends to employees as well as patients. Some work out and blossom, others fade away. But, wouldn't you rather partner with someone who lives their beliefs?
They are also adamant about being "green." EVEN BEFORE everyone else thought it was the right thing to do. You'll notice it in how you fill out your office visit questionnaire on a reusable coated form with a sharpie. You'll notice it in how notices for drug reps explain how to recycle packaging. You'll notice the cotton hand towels in the bathroom that are washed, folded and available for your use rather than paper towels.
I have NEVER found their pricing to be too much or over expensive. In fact, I have, several times, had to remind them to charge me for services. If I receive it, I believe it's my responsibility to pay for it. Again, the office and staff do NOT have the approach of looking at this as a way of becoming rich. They look at this as their calling. If there has ever been a confusion with billing or need for paperwork to satisfy FSA or insurance company issues, I found their willingness to work on it and figure it out very professional and above all, courteous. Their office manager has even utilized technology and EMAILED forms and receipts to make it easier for me to send them out to the FSA police.
If that is the kind of medical practice you are looking for, and if you are willing to work with them in a partnership approach, you will be DELIGHTED you chose Women's Primary Care. Even if you think you'd like something else, then I encourage you to try them out and see how you like the difference. I truly believe you'll be glad you did!
