Businiess name:  Buttercup Tea Room
Review by:  Kate C.
Review content:
Treat yourself to the delightful custom of high tea served Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays between the hours of 2:30 and 4:30 at the Buttercup Tea Room in Lenoir City. Delivered to your table by a charming apron-clad server carrying a three-tiered serving tray, high tea consists of savories, sweets and pastries carefully created by Buttercup chef Vernon Monzillo. The pleasant repast includes an array of sandwiches topped with smoked salmon and capers, cucumber rings on a delightful dill spread and other gourmet fare. A collection of fruited breads, raisin scones, cheese biscuits, cookies and other goodies make up the second layer. On the topmost tier, there is a wide of assortment of pastries including tarts, petit fours and various sweets. Served with a side of real whipped cream, lemon curd and jam, there is something for every palate. The cranberry autumn tea is just one of many to choose from as a complement to the meal. Located inside the Cranberry Hollow gift store, the Buttercup Tea Room is the creation of owner John Boling. The only complaint I had is that the food is a little pricey for dinner, although lunch prices are not too bad. But the quality makes up for it.
