Review content:
I checked out this salon and spa as a possible place of employment part time for the holidays. I am an experienced massage therapist with a great resume. I began the interview process over a month ago and have spent over 4 hours being questioned, quizzed, and asked to give my services for free. Hours into the "interview process," I finally got them to tell me what they pay their massage therapists. It is the lowest wage I have ever heard of a therapist receiving: pretty outrageous, considering they have the highest rates in the entire city and surrounding area! They offer only a small hourly wage and absolutely NO commission whatsoever. I was shocked, and when I politely explained that I'd never heard of wages so low for a therapist (keep in mind that LMTs work extremely hard for their money, and that none of us plans on getting rich from the work), Randy, one of the owners of the spa, raised his voice at me and spoke rudely for the rest of the interview. I knew I could not accept the job. Three weeks later, after not hearing anything back from them, I found that they'd hired a therapist who'd graduated from school less than a month prior ro her hire date. They didn't want a skilled, experienced therapist like me who knew what their work was worth. They wanted someone they could take advantage of who didn't know any better! Disturbing, sad, and seemingly unlawful. I won't give these people a cent for products OR services, ever.
