Review content:
I just want to say that I highly recommend Allstate Transmission and Auto Repair. I've had 3 transmissions rebuilt in my cars over the years, and after my first rebuilt transmission in my 1982 Bronco, that cost more than double the quote, I make sure I get a firm price for the work. Even so, on my last 2 transmission repairs, a 94 Explorer and a 2000 Lexus, I was railroaded into spending almost $3,000 for quotes that I was told would be about $2,000! When the transmission started slipping in my daughters 02 Honda Accord, I was going to have her sell it and get another car. My daughter actually found Allstate transmission and they gave her a low quote if they had to rebuild her transmission, but it could be higher if there were any bad electrical parts. I knew where this was going, so I called them myself. I spoke with Mitch and told him about my problem with transmission shops in the past. He made me feel very comfortable by giving me a guaranteed worse case price if it had to be rebuilt and needed any other parts. They got her car towed in and got it checked out. The free check out was nice, but I was cautious. They found a bad solenoid, but said the transmission could still need to be rebuilt, and that the solenoid would have to be replaced no matter what. They replaced it and, and the transmission started shifting again, but was still slipping in second gear and would have to be rebuilt. Again, Mitch gave us a worst case price to rebuild the transmission that came in her car, not just a generic one of the shelf. They said it would take about three days to do, but there was 2 days of cars ahead of it, five days total, but at least they were honest, another problem I had with transmission shops in the past, the transmission repairs had taken much longer then I was told. We had them go ahead and do the rebuild, and he didn’t even charge me the labor to change the solenoid. They even got her a rental car at Enterprise for only $10 a day. I was starting to feel even better about their honesty until I got a message
