Joi Rooks, the owner and head colorist/styist at this salon has not only won accolades internationally for her work, she is also an extremely sweet and down-to-earth person. She'll consult with you about the best hair cut and color for you (and will always defer to your preferences) and then she'll set to work, giving you the haircut and/or color of your dreams. I haven't been to the Grant Park location, but I LOVE the Oakhurst one. It has a great relaxed vibe, an incredibly friendly staff, and lots of free parking! I strongly recommend the salon for haircuts and coloring (after years of going to Key LIme Salon, I discovered in Joi the hair stylist/colorist of my dreams). And I would also STRONGLY recommend Fresche salon for special occasions. I called on Joi and her staff before my wedding and everyone involved--from my mother to the bridesmaids--was completely thrilled and delighted with the results. (Plus she arranged, as she usually dies for such occasions, to ensure that we were the only ones in the salon that saturday morning in may!) Joi has an amazingly talented staff--Tiffany for example is a terrific make-up artist and hair stylist-- and clearly, this is a place that takes hair styling very seriously, while making the whole experience completely fun. Great value!
