I've been an Acutech customer for 20 years! First, I'd like to confirm for reviewer "lesliej, SSF" that her experience was indeed a fluke. I've never experienced anything remotely close at Acutech. In fact, sometimes I've called ahead and Niki (Tam), the owner, will have someone ready when I arrive. I'm in and out in half an hour. Now for the basics: 1) Niki is a 100% honest, trustworthy, competent mechanic and businessman. He tells you straight up the problem, cost, and time required. I've never felt pushed to do repairs... and I've appreciated Niki's willingness to give me his "what I would do" feedback. He gives me as much time and information as I need. 2) They can work on any car, foreign or domestic. (I only trust Acutech to work on my Porsches.) 3) "Flat rate" repair charges (i.e., based on manufacturer's estimated cost) so the fees are always competitive and known up front. 4) Repair time has not been a problem. Niki and his crew have always done everything to get me back on the road as soon as possible (and sometimes even sooner). 5) If you need a tow truck, Acutech is contracted with Tow Truck operators such that you only pay Acutech's special rate and not the full fee. 6) And last but not least, Niki, his crew, and office staff have always been friendly and respectful toward me from day one - treating me like a "person" and not just another repair job.
