Thank you Lorine & Zena Day Spa for helping me feel “pretty” again!
As a cancer survivor still fighting the fight, I can’t tell you how many obstacles & hurdles I had to go through to be able to share this wonderful experience with you.
4 years ago I was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer (w/mets to the liver) & told I had “3 months to live.” Thankfully a 2nd opinion saved my life & I had a wonderful support system along the way. Someone who played a very important part in my healing process was Lorine Mikheail from Zena Day Spa.
When you are fighting for your life, the last thing you generally think about is how you look. I have always considered myself to be a confident, successful, caring person who took pride in their appearance. When I was diagnosed, my main focus was to do whatever it took to beat the illness & not let the side effects of chemotherapy get me down.
As someone who has always been conscious of their appearance, it was tough trying not to let the hair loss, acne, nausea, skin-breakouts, etc. get me down. When I talk about the hair loss, I’m not just talking about the hair on my head; I lost my eyebrows too! Losing my eyebrows just put me over the edge, so to speak…not my EYEBROWS too! I have to admit, I am fascinated with the perfect eyebrow & I can honestly say, I didn’t have the perfect eyebrow until I met Lorine.
The first time I went in to see Lorine was about a year & a ½ after my first successful battle with the illness. I grew very tired of drawing in my brows & needed help. I met with Lorine & immediately wanted her to give me the eyebrows I wanted my entire life.
Lorine is professional, caring, & passionate about her business; she is also an ARTIST because the eyebrows she penciled in before she began the permanent makeup process were absolutely PERFECT; perfect arch, perfect shape, perfect compliment to MY face.
Lorine surrounds herself with professionals who care about their customers & realize that repeat business & word-of-mouth is all the advertising you need to run a successful, growing business in a very convenient location with lots of free parking behind the spa.
Today (a few years & another battle with cancer later) I went back in to see Lorine for a eyebrow touch-up & permanent eyeliner…might as well have a professional help me with the liner too! My eyes look AMAZING!!! It’s incredible how good you can feel on the inside when you feel so “pretty” on the outside too; this couldn’t mean more to a cancer survivor like me.
I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Zena Spa & look forward to many more visits in the years to come. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for the BEST permanent makeup artist…ever! Lorine is THE best!!!
