Review content:
I was very excited about MyShape Lipo when I heard they could work on me for so much less than other places. I called them, the staff was friendly, I paid the $500 deposit, and made an appointment. But later realized, there is more to consider. Dr. Patel is board-certified...but apparently not in cosmetic surgery. He is certified in family practice. (Google: healthgrades patel henderson; Also this is per the FSMB, fsmb.org) Furthermore, it appears that the Dr. is not even present in the building when the lipo is performed...healthgrades lists his office address as over a mile away from Myshape! I was told that my lipo at Myshape would be performed by a Physician Assistant, Trevor Schmidt. They told me they have an RN on staff also. I emailed Myshape after booking and asked what they would do in the unlikely event of an emergency. They replied, "In an emergency we would call 911 and have paramedics come." Can you imagine, having an emergency in surgery and the staff having to call 911 to have paramedics take you somewhere else?!? Which is the next thing, the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities accredits most outpatient surgery facilties, and Myshape Liposculture is not accredited by them.
Also I emailed Brandy at Myshape and asked to read the consent form ahead of time. I am glad I did this instead of waiting to see it the day of. In the consent form you agree to arbitration. Perhaps this is industry standard. You also agree that the cosmetic surgery will be performed by a Physician Assistant. The consent form also indicates that should any complications develop, you require hospitalization, etc. you are on your own and responsible for those charges. If you are considering Myshape Liposuction, at least contact them and ask them to send you a PDF of the consent form ahead of time so you can read it in advance. I cancelled, they will refund deposit.
BTW The only other review below is 5 raving stars written by "Trevor S." Did Trevor Schmidt really write that himself?
