My husband took our car (it's an old one, a 1986 Chevrolet Cavalier) in to an Antioch major chain place for an oil change. They showed him an oil leak trailing through the engine, and quoted $500-plus for the repair.
We have a tight budget; in desparation, he took the car to McDuffee for a second opinion. (Our friend recommended the shop; the owner goes to church with her.) The serviceman at McDuffee told him there was no leak. They didn't charge anything for their time, either.
They saved us $500 and restored my faith in car repair companies.
