Visited "The Other Side" for the first time last September. I live in Palm Springs, so don't get to Silverlake that often. But now plan my visits to include a Friday evening to catch James Lent at the piano. Besides James enthusiastic piano playing, he has guest singers who are truly professional artists. They perform a couple numbers and then someone else takes the microphone. Taking turns and giving each a few steps up to the mike during the evening. It makes for a fabulously enjoyable evening. The place does get crowded, but lots of fun, even if you have to stand. P.S. Get there early and enjoy dinner at The Flying Leap Cafe before the show. But make reservations. Pros: An Evening With James Lent is not to be missed. Cons: At times hard to get a drink at the tables.
