Having just moved here from the NYC area, I have never experienced anything like Fry's before. The selection of computer books, CDs, DVDs, electronics, computer parts, components, home audio (and everything else you can think of) is absolutely amazing.
If you go to Best Buy looking for a mouse, you might have 12 choices. At Fry's, you probably have 30, including some harder-to-find models.
I recently purchased a home theater system from Fry's and got home only to realize that the speaker wire was missing. After going back to the store and talking to the manager, I received the wires from the floor model and was on my way. This really great service seems to be limited to the higher-level associates and management, because my experiences with other floor associates haven't been so great.
The only con in regard to the selection is that if you need a specific item, it can be hard to find it. I could go in there looking for batteries and end up staying there for an hour.
