Review content:
Stayed two nights with the better half for a birthday weekend in the city, and we were very pleased with this hotel. Prior to our arrival we had already decided to request an upgrade - after all it was my birthday. When checking in they immediately upgraded us to a corner suite with amazing views. You know I had read on this site that previous guests had been upgraded without asking but I tend to be pessimistic and didn’t think it possible – well I guess I was wrong. Our room was spotless, and very well appointed. The robes were out of this world soft and the bed – I don’t think I have ever slept that good in a hotel before. The staff was always friendly and we were always greeted with a "hello" and a smile when passing in the hallway. Despite the great room and friendly staff, the main attraction of the Avenue Hotel is the location - just steps from some of Chicago's most iconic destinations. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Pros: staff was very personable Cons: Did not want to leave
