Review content:
I find it extremely strange that my prior review of this salon is nowhere to be found on the internet. I want to warn people about this salon. First of all, this salon prides itself on being "environmentally friendly". Why then did they abandon a perfectly nice salon when they were located in the strip center on 494? Maybe it's because it was a strip center & that was 'beneath them'? Instead, they built a brand new facility with bamboo flooring, etc, etc. The materials & energy to build this new salon was not as environmentally friendly as taking advantage of an older, vacant building. (And I'm not a hippie chic either - Just an observation to something they pride themselves in). Secondly, the front desk staff are very snobby. Ladies, you are working at a front desk. You are the first sight when clients walk in the door. How 'bout starting off with a genuine smile & invitation? I have gotten along just fine with the front desk before, but I felt that I had to give them a 'better-than-thou' front to seem worthy of their conversation. How silly, right? Thridly, the hair service..... I went in for a root touch-up. I paid $90 for a PARTIAL root TOUCH UP! (No blow-dry). My hair did not even look touched at all. I still had at least 2 inches of dark roots in prominently noticeabe areas. I was disgusted that they could charge so much for a touchup for my thin, shoulder-length hair. I have not been back. Hair services are becoming ridiculously overpriced. It amazes me how much some women will pay to get a temporary hair fix. If you are going to pay anyone to color or cut your hair, I don't recommend this place. I used to regularly go to The Conservatory when they were located in the strip center & had better prices. If the girl who I used to see still worked there, then I'd probably still be a client, because she was wonderful. Also.... Beware of the plethora of positive reviews for this salon. I have noticed an overwhelming number of reviews that all read very similarly/same vocabulary/same punctuation, etc. Maybe this is what the front desk staff are doing in their spare time? Anyway... I also received an email recently from this salon saying "We miss you. Come visit us soon" with a link that you can click on to review their salon. I find it interesting that they encourage people to send reveiws of their salon THROUGH them. I assume this allows them to filter out the bad reviews before they are posted on the world wide web... ALSO... Notice the usernames of the previous reviews. They are all similar. Then, click on their username for reviews of other places. There aren't any reviews for other places. (Unless they've updated that now. ha). What are we? Dumb? By all means, feel free to give this salon a try. You may have a better experience than I did last time. Maybe they have improved their services after seeing some negative reviews online? And I'm sure that not ALL of their stylists suck. P.S. Last time I published this review, I received a reply a few days later from someone who claimed to be the owner's granddaughter, scolding me for writing a bad review about her grandmother's salon. I'm sorry, but I have to be honest. EDIT: To be fair... The price isn't bad considering that they offer you a drink while you're there, have a nice atmosphere & give you a neck/head massage followed by a hot towel when they wash your hair. (Although, i was not offered that last time, they usually do). Now, if my hair had turned out just right, THEN the price might have been worth it.
