I had been experiencing lower back pain for some years noticeable in my early twenties. I had never gotten in a serious car accident or had a significant event that I could remember to be the cause of the pain. I realized my back pain was a result of wear and tear of lifting heavy items incorrectly at a younger age. I became very limited in sitting for longer periods of time and when I had to, I would feel stiff upon standing and have tightness in my lower back. Eventually I started feeling stiff upon getting out of bed in the morning. Stretches would relieve this only a bit. The climax of my suffering came as a result of doing my exercise routine, Tae Bo at the time, and having my lower back feel like it locked up which tightened my gluteus and lower back muscles limiting my ability to walk comfortably. Dr. Jackson has helped me to realize that what I had been experiencing is vertebral subluxation, a dysfunctional spinal segment in my lower back. In other words, the feeling of my lower back being locked up was due to vertebra loosing healthy mobility and surrounding tissue becoming unhealthy. With Dr. Jackson’s use of spinal manipulation and delivery of chiropractic adjustment, my mobility in my lower back has improved tremendously, helping me stay physically active and doing the things I love. Along with regular adjustments, the help of an on staff massage therapist and exercise I am on my way to pain free days to enjoy my later twenties.
