Review content:
Intrex Computers is known around the Triangle as a full-service computer retail shop. Carrying everything from networking equipment to fancy computer cases, Intrex caters to the higher end of computing.
Unfortunately, as a low-class computer user, I have found Intrex's prices to be somehwat higher than I could get online or at a big mass-market retailer. This makes sense, but for me computers are primarily price-driven and so I generally shy away from Intrex for major components.
The other down side is that most of my computers are, well, old, and maintaining them means I occasionally need things that were made earlier than last year. While the big-box stores often have such things, Intrex seems to sell its stock of older components - even those it pulls for system upgrades - years before I get in to ask for them.
...By which time the employees who remember them move on to bigger and better jobs so I'm left with a fellow who has no idea what I want nor why I would want it... It is not, by any stretch, a specialty store with esoteric hardware, though it is fine for mainstream computers and the general computer gamer and builder.
Anyway, Intrex has successfully supplied me with a variety of useful things over the years: disk drives, network cable, a crimper, and suchlike, generally at fair prices and with fair quality.
In summary, if you need something small and common fast, Intrex probably has it; if you need something big and new and want to buy it locally, Intrex can do that, too. It's a decent store, especially if you do not know for sure what you need.
