When I told my car in for a state inspection they told me that it would cost around $2600 to get to the point where it would pass. The car wasn't worth that much so I got rid of the car and bought a used one from a close friend. When it started having trouble starting I took it in and was told that I needed to replace my alternator. I told them I was surprised because the guy who jumped my car said that the alternator was producing the right charge level. I asked for an estimate and was told $400 for the part and $200 for the labor. When I told him that the part seem high he said it was because it was a Lexus. He also said that I should replace my aftermarket battery. I told him I didn't think I needed to, he agreed, but said that if I replace both he guaranteed that it would fix my problem. I wanted the problem to go away so I agreed to both. When I picked up my car I was surprised that they managed to push up the final bill to a few dollars short of $1000. I felt that I was being ripped off and paid it figuring that I wouldn't be going back there again. The first thing that I noticed when I drove off was that my car was noisy, it wasn't when I took it in. It was strange, but I didn't see how their repair work would have created that problem. A week later I started having the same starting problem that I paid $1000 dollars to fix, so I took it back to them thinking that for all that money and the fact that they guaranteed the work I assumed that they would make sure that they really fixed the problem this time for the money already spent. No, they wanted to replace my starter this time and charge me for it. When I complained about the work that I paid for that wasn't needed they just claimed that it was needed and that the starter might be a new problem. I told them that I didn't think that they knew what they were doing and took my car away. I didn't want to pay for them to replace my entire electrical system part by part. When I finally looked for why my car was making noise I could see
