Review content:
I was a FRGC member for about three years, until a few years back. By the way, I rarely used the range, maybe 2-3 times an year. I even shooed out a few trespassers and pickied up garbage. Then, my son asked, one day, if he could use the range and I reluctantly agreed. He then invited a friend. The club president, Bob, was checking the range that day and found them shooting pellet rifles at the rifle bay. He asked why they had not obey'd the sign "no rifle shooting closer than 100 yds" My son said it was only a pellet rifle. The club pres, Bob, said it didn't matter and that next time it would be a 22 then a high power, etc. He asked if they were members. My son said, no, my dad is. He said they were in violation of club rules and confiscated the badge and key. He said he "was just waiting to catch someone". Then told them to leave the grounds. I called later to explain I was sorry they didn't see the sign and that is was only pellet rifles. I confessed that I had overlooked the rule that other than spouses, family needs their own membership. I pleaded ignorance and assured him we weren't being negligent. He then told me to return our badges and keys. Because we "broke the rules" we would be suspended for a year. I never renewed and told them so in a letter when I returned the badges and keys. It was a good place to shoot until then. That really hurts.
