My 13 y/o daughter has been begging me to let her get her hair relaxed for quite some time. She is biracial with a very full head of fine S-curls that never seem to get longer, just tighter as her hair grows. Her curls are beautiful and I do not want her to chemically straighten her hair.
We went to Essence at the recommendation of my girlfriend. She told us about the salon and the Keratin treatment that they used to make blow-outs and flat ironing easier. Typically, it takes me nearly two hours to flat iron my child's hair.
I spoke with Ms. Terez to book an appointment and was able to get my daughter in quickly - she worked around MY schedule! When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the staff. My daughter was quickly taken back, Ms. Terez and company were friendly and made my daughter feel welcome. Ms. Terez discussed the process, answered our questions and gave feedback on the condition of Zo?'s hair.
I left to run errands and when I returned, my daughter was smiling from ear to ear with silky straight hair that was stunning! We were both very pleased with the outcome leaving the shop, but I had no idea how that was only the beginning of how pleased I would be!
It is now 5 months later (I'm sorry to say this because I promised to write a review much earlier) and with bi-weekly cleansing and flat-ironing (with daily touch-ups), and trims about every 8 weeks, Zo?'s hair STILL looks fabulous, straightens easily, and has grown over two inches! (And to make mom happy, she still wear her curls every now and then, they still look great.)
I'm going to be calling for another treatment appointment next month. The Keratin treatment is a little on the pricey side, but again, it's been 5 months since her last treatment.
I am very pleased with Essence VIP.
-The salon is well maintained and the atmosphere is relaxing.
-The staff is professional, friendly and knowledgeable.
-Service is fast - there isn't 'more heads than hands' and your needs are attended to throughout your service.
-Scheduling is easy; appointment times are varied to accommodate clients' schedules.
