fabu salon and day spa

I tried Fabu after getting a bad red hair color from another salon that I did not like... I was scheduled at Fabu with Katelyn and she blocked off an entire afternoon for my color correction service. She took the time to understand exactly what I wanted, and it took a lot of work and a lot of patience, but I ended up leaving completely AMAZED by my new hair color! Katelyn was professional and highly knowledgeable and she was dedicated to giving me the best experience possible. Even after hours of work she still stuck to the original price she had quoted me. I LOVE my hair now and would highly recommend Katelyn at Fabu to anyone who wants to feel fabulous and recieve highly professional and personalized salon service!!!! Pros: null Cons: null more

OK, so it was just a brow wax, HOWEVER I was treated as if my eyebrows were made of gold. Normally, in the past, i went to places were the wax was slapped on and off and out the door I went, this experience was nothing like that. Pros: High quality treatment/service more

As a busy mom, I all too rarely make time for myself. I finally took a morning just for me and went to Fabu for a cranberry bog wrap, facial, manicure and pedicure. I left walking on air! I highly recommend Fabu to any woman who thinks that life is too hectic. The decor is beautiful and the atmosphere is so relaxing ? you will feel healing the minute you walk through the door. The amazing staff is so warm and generous ? they will nurture your soul and melt your cares away. You will leave far more able to take on the world than before you came in! Pros: Caring, sensitive staff treats you like royalty. Open 7 days a week. Beautiful jewelry available. Cons: Alas, there are no hotel rooms within the spa, so eventually you have to go home. more

This place is confusing and crawling with unprofessional staff. I was offered coffee and the mug had lipstick on it. In good location but that is all this salon has going for itself. Pros: Fabu has evening appointments and is open 7days a week! more

This spa is nothing short of fabulous! My visit started off with a tour, and this is no ordinary spa. There is so much space, and the views are incredible. The staff is friendly and inviting. They are highly professional but, down to earth and comforting. My hair stylist was extremely helpful, giving me all sorts of tips to help me duplicate the amazing blowdry (that complimented the amazing cut and color) at home. Pros: open 7 days a week......wow! Cons: none that I can think of. more

I am always willing to pay top dollar for a great cut and color, and even with that said....I was a bit taken back with the total cost of my services. Aside from that, my experience was very different that the other reviewers....so maybe it was just an off day for Fabu. I think Fabu must be the best spa/salon in the Portland area! I have been a few times now and have left every time, sad to leave!! I have enjoyed my visits so much, I can't begin to rave enough. The atmosphere is so .. well.. fabulous! Upon walking in the front door you immediately feel like the staff has known you for ages, and that you are a very special client. The air smells fresh, and oh so inviting. The decoration throughout is both calming and reinvigorating.. and then come the views!!! Overlooking Portland harbor.. it just doesn't get better than this. The service is positively superb and offered by an incredibly professional and friendly staff. They all FEEL like complete experts in their specialty, and yet offer advise on services in a way that makes you feel so special, and never like you don't know what you're talking about. I highly recommend Fabu for everything from a simple hair cut (great at colors too!) or pedicure to the full spa day. I even brought my 2 year old in for her first haircut and she was treated so wonderfully! These folks are really, REALLY good! And did I mention that they even have child care on site???? Allison at FABU has been doing my hair for the past 5 years. I have gone to many hairdressers over the years and have to say she is by far the best. The color always comes out just the way I want it and the cut is perfect. I would highly recommend her and the salon. more

I have gone to Fabu several times now, and I have to say it is worth going back. Right when you walk inside you are welcomed with people who truly want to be there. I am always asked if I would like something to drink, and anything else I need to be comfortable and relaxed. The staff will bend over backwards for you. The staff are all knowledgable in their fields and they are caring and supportive to their clients. The services is high quality and the results are always Fabulous!!!! more

I usually don't take the time to write a review, but my experience was so fulfulling and relaxing, that I want to share with everyone how much I recommend getting your hair and spa services at Fabu. From the second I entered the salon, I was greeted with a cheerful welcome and asked if I wanted water, tea, etc. The woman behind the desk hung up my coat and then took me up to the 5th floor (with an amazing view) to have my hair done. As a first timer, I was introduced to the hairstylist. Rhyanna spent time fully consulting with me about my hair type, what products I use, my lifestyle and want I wanted for color and cut. She walked me through the process, so I felt completely confident in her. The shampooing alone was like a head-massage! My color is deep, dimensionaly and gorgeous! I am now a loyal regular. And, I get my pedi's and waxing done at Fabu as well. The experience is top-notch!!! Pros: They are open every day from 8-8! more

I knew it was time to relax when i could barely move my neck due to so much personal and work related stress. I was scheduled for a one hour massage and pedicure. I arrived and was immediately offered beverages and given a warm smile. The atmosphere was unbeatable. My massage therapist worked on exactly what I had mentioned was causing me discomfort. At some spas in the past I've felt almost exposed, she made me feel secure and was everything I could have possibly asked for. The pedicure was not only the best I've had but the female giving the service was exceptional. I remember how sincere she was with the conversation and work she was doing. Complete attention to every detail. My experience was the first at Fabu and won't be the last. Temporarily took me away from reality and was greatly appreciated. Whenever a friend comes to town, this is where we go to catch up, have some good girl time and get a little bit spoiled. I especially love the champagne & roses pedicure. I start off giving the gift certificate to introduce a friend and then Fabu works its magic and lo and behold, I get invited back many times over by the new initiates! Love it! more

I felt the need to write this review because too many times people take the time to complain, but when things go well they are quiet............I have gone to all kinds of hair salons/day spas from Portland to Boston. Ashley has cut and colored my hair several times and she is amazing. She listens to what I tell her, and I have never been dissatisfied. The few times I have gone other places, I always have to come back and have her fix what others have done to me. I have used the other services as well, Kirsten the massage therapist has worked wonders on my back and Ginger the nail tech is wonderful as well. She does not hurry you through a manicure, like some spas, and if you go get the Roses and Champagne scented spa manicure!!!! The overall experience there is welcoming and luxurious.................. Pros: They validate parking in the garage too!!! Cons: It's addicting!! more

They are very nice at the salon and will do what it takes to make it right for the customer. The salon itself is beautiful, with spectacular views! more
