If you still decide to go after reading this review, you have nobody to blame but yourself. Consider yourself warned.
This place was AWFUL! Literally brought me to tears. I went in because a friend of mine had a gift card so we decided to check it out. I started with just a bangs trim from their stylist who messed them up so bad. I asked for blunt cut above the brow and they were layered and feathered and poking me int he eyes - strike one. Same stylist gave my friend a cut which she loved so I suppose that was worth something..
Next I got my eyebrows waxed, she did a good job and that was fine, I have no complaints there.
Lastly, I wanted their "European Spa Mani/Pedi treatment" which I was excited about. First off, there is no nail technician at the spa. They are all certified cosmetologists, mine warned me that she specialized in hair.
Moving along, I sit in the chair as she pulls her tools out of a Crown Royale bag (first red flag). The tools were placed in a cup of water with bleach (red flag #2). She pushed my cuticles and trimmed them -sort of but the tools were dull (red flag #3). Scrubbed my feet and told me to holler at her if she hurts or cuts me (sirens going off now). My "extended massage" was nothing more than a quick application of lotion on my legs.
This girl was SUPER nice but she did not know what she was doing.. at all! Then came polish time. She couldn't polosh nails if it saved her life. Never mind, I thought I was wearing closed toe shoes anyway and she was so nice that I was willing to let it go at this point. Plus, I hadn't taken a good look at them yet.
Now on to the hands. She pushed my cuticles after runbbing vaseline on them. and didn't even trim. then she filed them round after I asked for square, using a file so harsh that pieces started to break off! Her response, to keep filing them down to nubs. Whatever, I suppose I am too nice to say anything, so I let her continue. She then begins to polish my nails well parts of them anyhow. She didn't get the nail beds or the sides, just went down the middles, it looked like she painted red eggs on my nails. THREE coats later, she decides I am ready to go. I tell her that they are not acceptable so she calls the owner in. I ask her to remove the polish and she says "no I fix it" her "fixing it" was a FOURTH layer of polish. My nails looked HORRIBLE and CHUNKY. How on Earth did they think this was OK? SO I get frustrated and tell her to please just remove the polish. After fighting and insisting that the problem is MY polish not them, she agrees to remove my polish and let me go. It was not my polish as it was brand new and the girl at the nail salon I had to go to immediately following this scene said it was a good polish.
It is check out time and she wants to charge me $75. I tell her that my manicure was not the "European" because all she did was file, push my cuticles and paint my nails. So she deducts $10. I then comment on how horrible my feet look and she simply ignores me. I again mentioned how bad they look and how there was no way that the caliber of service I received was worth $65. She said "youpay for services given and there are no refunds" not even an apology for my terrible experience. So, I WASTED $65. I was so angry I ended up in tears and at the nail salon across the way (which by the way ROCKS). I show up and the poor lady Lucy didn't know what to do, I was upset and told her I had just paid too much for a mani pedi and they ruined my nails. She charged me only $20 and fixed my hacked up cuticles and repainted my nails.
NEVER again, will I go back to Zhanna's. EVER. The service is not the quality you'd expect for what you'll have to pay. I even saw her charge a teenager $40 to put in ONE strand of feathers. I told her mother to go to Babushka's next time for a $12 application.
DO NOT GO TO ZHANNA'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
