How can anyone give Zach's a bad review! 10/17/2006

O.k., I did a search for the street address for Zach's and I am truely shocked that someone can give this resturant a bad review! Zachs is, by far, the friendliest restaurant in the greater LA area! The food is superb, portions ample, and the rolls are worth the visit alone. Besides superior food, the atmosphere at Zachs is quite rare for a less-than-open-armed-LA. The charm is its home-like atmosphere. It looks like a house because it was a house, and the dining areas are sectioned into quant rooms, with a great patio space for outdoor dining. I suggest stop reading reviews, call a few friends and try Zachs out for yourself! I am guessing it will become one of your favorites. more

best place to relax, great service 10/14/2006

I moved from NYC to LA and am so happy that I found Zach's. It has become THE restaurant that feels like "home". The waiters are so personable and friendly. The prices are so resaonable, especially in comparision to similiar restaurants in West Hollywood. They have a wonderful outdoor space, as well as several rooms inside. It's like being in someone's home, very welcoming, and you can actually hear the conversation at your table, even when the place is full, which is frequently is. The food is great. I recommend the delicious soups, pizza, and my favorite, the eggplant sandwich. I'm vegetarian, and have found plenty of options here. If you have any special requests, just ask the waitstaff. If you are looking to have a reasonably prices meal in a lovely relaxed atmosphere, this is your place. Pros: Nice valet parking for $3 Cons: Difficult to park in neighborhood if there is something going on at the Hollywood Bowl more

Zachs down home cooking 10/9/2006

We were first introduced to Zachs by the concierge at a local and nearby Hotel were we reside quite often. When we stated we wanted something close, good and not extraordinarily expensive she sated from personal experience Zachs was the place. After having previously eaten at multiple Beverly Hills restaurants which entailed long drives, traffic and poor service at a premium price for substandard food we gave it a try. We have been regulars since and enjoy our time with our local friends in an atmosphere that is relaxed and very much Californian with its patio seating while enjoying superb food, excellent service, and all at reasonable prices. more

Italian Cuisine Heaven 10/7/2006

Not your average Italian restaurant. Great sauces, creative and absolutely delicious pasta dishes. The dinner rolls that are served are remarkable. I have to remind myself not to eat so many because the meal is coming. They are hot, filled with the perfect about of garlic and cheese. No reason to add butter! They have a wide variety of salads that are delightful and there is not one dish that I have had that wasn't fantastic. The staff is incredible, fun and very personable. As a regular I feel like a good friend coming over for dinner. The added plus is that they also deliver. When we have friends come from out of town we take them first to Zach's and now when they come return they always want to go to Zach's! Pros: Everything more

Larger chain restaurants should take a few pointers from Zach's!! 9/24/2006

In a world full of boring, loud, overpriced chain restaurants it's nice to have a place like Zach's which reminds us of the way a restaurant experience SHOULD be. Every time I go not only am I greeted happily, but I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes to get a table. The inside is very welcoming and quaint, and the patio area is amazing. Once you have been seated, they will bring you endless baskets of garlic-cheese rolls.....I have been known to have cravings for these when I haven't gone in a while. The menu has something for everyone!! From Cheese Ravioli, to Thai Chicken Pasta, to Mussels, to Debbie's Favorite Pizza (I can't begin to tell you how delicious this one is); I have never had anything at Zach's that I did not like. If you get a salad, I recommend their House Italian Dressing.... they make it from scratch and it is sooooo delicious. I was going to rent the entire restaurant to celebrate my parent's 30th wedding anniversary but the date I needed was not available. I was very sad, but I would definitely use Zach's for any future party I may need. All in all.....I LOVE ZACH'S!!! If you want a loud, overpriced, impersonal dining experience, try any chain restaurant. If you want ambience, delicious food, great service, and a reasonable bill go to Zach's. Pros: Great Food, Great Prices, Great Ambience Cons: Small Parking Lot more

The perfect LA get away, in LA 9/19/2006

I've been coming to Zach's for over 10 years and have nothing but praise for this little hideaway. Besides having the most delicious never-ending cheese rolls, the rest of the menu is amazing and extroidinarily reasonable. I am shocked anyone would say this place is expensive in a world of Buca di Beppos and Maggianos. The wait staff is always friendly and, having waited tables myself, they are as attentive and quick as any place I've ever been. You get back what you put out and this restaurant definitley shines. You can even reserve the whole place for a private function! I had a surprise birthday party with fifteen guests and the bill was less than $300 with tip! Bring your own wine for a small corkage fee or try one of the wait staff's suggestions. You can not go wrong by trying this place out for lunch or dinner. Thursday night has the most amazing cream of broccoli soup you'll ever try! Do not pass this place up! Believe me, you'll love it! Pros: Garlic cheese rolls, wait staff, price Cons: none, except when the Hollywood Bowler's take up all the parking more

Terrible service+semi-decent food=NO GO 3/20/2005

3/19/05. we start out by not seeming to have a server as he took over 10 minutes to come over to our section. he took the order of the people who came in AFTER us, who were served 10 minutes BEFORE us. he came once to see how we were doing, never showed again. 15 minutes after we finished, the busboy came to take our plates. when i said i wanted to take my leftovers home, the bus boy brought me a box to do my own wrapping up. still no sign of our server. i complained to the manager, who took the more expensive entree off of our bill and assured us that he would speak to the server. i was far from convinced by that timid little man. the food was semi-decent and overpriced, and the terrible service will guarantee that i never return. Pros: appetizer rolls Cons: service, price, entrees more

More Bread Please! 10/15/2002

Zach's is amazing! I'm sorry it took me so long to try it, but my husband and I had one of the best dinner experiences ever here! The chicken ravioli is to-die-for. I ate it up so fast that the waiter couldn't believe his own eyes. Exceptional service, cozy atmosphere, and an extensive menu makes Zach's my new #1 regular restaurant to visit when I'm craving great Italian dishes. They even brew their own pale ale, which must be good because they sold out! Did I mention the warm rolls with melted mozzarella in the center? Ten million thumbs up! Pros: $1.50 valet, Cozy&Intimate, Best valley Italian Cons: None! more
