What a wonderful restaurant. Even though it is tiny and you may have to wait a bit, they do a pretty good job of turning over tables while not making you feel rushed. The servic...

hidden treasure 10/5/2005

great local find! definitely will take all out of town guests here. the food is great, huge portions, great service, you couldn't ask for more...maybe just some space. but the line speaks for itself. the servers are always nice, even with the crowds. the menu is large, i recommend the udon and the agadasi tofu (spelled wrong, i know). haven't tried the sushi but i hear its wonderful as well. i recommend making reservations, they will seat you right away if you do! Pros: generous portions, terrific service, delicious food Cons: small venue more

Yuki Sushi 8/30/2005

Another one of those small, strip mall eateries, Yuki Sushi has all of the traditional Japonese faves: fresh seasonal sushi, bento boxes, udon and katsu dishes. The menu is about average size with lots of variety in their bento offerings. In fact, you can pick and choose different combos in your bento box. Pricing is reasonable at $8-12 for lunch entrees and $2-4 for individual sushi. I havent been there for dinner. more

Large Pieces 8/3/2005

I like this casual place. There are tons of rolls to choose from, many of which have mayonaise so they did start tasting the same after a while. The fish is fresh! And they server large pieces of sashimi! Pros: Fresh fish, Large portions, Value more

I have yet to find better sushi and service for the great price! It is small so the wait can be a while, but ALWAYS worth it. Pros: fresh fish, friendly servers Cons: very small more

Great Japanese food, OK sushi 6/1/2005

Yuki sushi is a great Japanese food restaurant. Everything I have had from here has been great. The service has always been exceptional and friendly and I always see people talking to the waiters and waitresses about their lives. Excellent katsu curry. The curry is real beef curry with all the fixings in it and the katsu (chicken or pork) is delicious and fried perfectly. It's a ton of food, so I always have a doggie bag. They offer all kinds of good Japanese food that isn't always offered at other "japanese" restaurants. They have sukiyaki and nabeyaki for starts and it's served in a real hot pot with a good sauce. They have huge bento boxes which are really just two orders of the items. The teriyaki steak is real steak which they cook to order. Everything is good. The sushi is OK. I love two things: Ikura and spicy tuna roll. Something's up with their Ikura, it just tastes weird. I eat a lot of Ikura and from Japan to Hawaii to California and something tastes wierd a more

Great Sushi! 2/14/2005

A very small restaurant tucked in the corner of a small plaza, this is a dining experience that can't be missed! I tried three rolls and they were all great. Here they are from least favorite to favorite: Pros: Great food!, Great Service! more

Great Sushi 7/17/2004

Yuki Sushi has the best sushi I have ever tasted in the Bay Area. The Hamachi is fabulous. It just melts in your mouth. Also, the spicy tuna role is well made with a tasty jalapeno/mayo sauce. However, on the Baja role I thought there was an excess amount of mayo. It demolished the taste of the California role. The Shyumai was also excellent with its tangy mustard. The service was good, but I would not recommend going to Yuki Sushi with a large group due to the restaurant's size. Overall, Yuki Sushi is a small restaurant with big tastes. Pros: Hamachi, Spicy Tuna, Shyumai more

hamachi to die for 6/13/2004

i have to admit i am addicted to their hamachi. if there is a support group for hamachi addicts, let me know. the jalapeno sauce used on the spicy rolls is fabulous as well -- none of that cliche red-rooster sauce mixture you get in most other sushi bars in the spicy tuna rolls! i think i'm addicted to the spicy sauce too... i seem to experience regular cravings for a yuki spicy tuna "fix." the staff here is as friendly as they get. i am always amazed at how many people in the restaurant seem to know the staff at a personal level, exchanging greetings and stories about their families. brave the crowds and give them a try, you won't regret it! Pros: hamachi, jalapeno sauce, friendly Cons: , small, a bit expensive more

My Favorite Restaurant 12/4/2003

Yuki is my favorite restaurant because the food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. The sashimi/fish is the best Ive had at any price; large portions and quality you can "see" even as an amature sushi fanatic like myself. Load up on a large Asahi and a order of their ten-zaru soba noodles for a simple meal with major flavor! Pros: fresh fish, great staff, exotic menu items more

white tuna special 7/18/2003

forget toro, white tuna special of the day was divine. like buttery filet mignon. just thinking about it makes me want to go right now! check out the baja roll, or anything else w. their super spicy jalapeno sauce! and don't forget the hamachi and another order of white tuna. white tuna...white tuna...white tuna... Pros: white tuna, hamachi, rolls Cons: small but cozy more

Small but very nice 7/3/2003

Small family-owned place that is often packed with diners. The servers are always polite and friendly. The food is excellent. My spouse likes the sushi and I love their tempura. One of our favorite places! This place reminds us Cheers, the TV series. more

Good sushi 2/9/2003

The sushi is good. The fish is fresh. The staff is nice. The place can get pretty crowded and it's small Cons: crowded, small more

Super Sushi! 2/3/2003

Over the years, I have become a sushi fanatic. I must say that Yuki Sushi is by far the best Japanese restaurant in the South Bay. Their cuts of sushi are large and fresh, and their menu has lots of items not found at other Japanese restaurants. more

YUMMI SUSHI 11/13/2002

The place is always packed...but do not let that deter you. The staff is always friendly and upbeat, sush VERY fresh, salmon misosuki is simply divine. Pros: good parking, friendly staff, FRESH FOOD more

Excellent Aji! 11/9/2002

It's the best Aji I've tasted. The shrimp we ordered was also good and fresh. We came during lunch, and it was packed! Looks like the place needs extension, but people DO want to wait. Probz because of the food, or because of the service. Probz both. I fell in love with the Aji, so we ordered twice, the same bento. It's tender, but crispy. So crispy. The sushi was not good. It's not crunchy, but too soft. Too much rice too. Suggestion: go for the bento, skip the sushi. You can get the sushi in Miyake (Stanford) a lot cheaper and tastier! Pros: Love the bento, Love the Aji Cons: Skip the sushi more
