\r \r \r We got our kids into the Karate Studio at a very young age and it has been the best thing that we could have ever done. Our son has turned into a very respectful, responsible, and happy young man and our daughter has learned to respect herself when many of her classmates don't do the same. We have gotten so much more out of the Young Champions of America Karate Studio than we have put into it and we are truly blessed. Thanks for such a wonderful program Young Champions of America. This is a recommended program for sure.\r \r \r \r more

\r \r I was at the end of my rope when I found this program. Young Champions of America saved our family. Our children were about as bad as they could get but they loved the idea of joining the program; thankfully. They thought they would learn to fight other kids and that attracted them but what they learned was so much greater than what I could have ever imagined. Respect, responsibility, self esteem, and discipline have all become an active part of their lives today and I couldn't be any more thankful for Young Champions of America than I am. Great program for sure!\r more

The coaches are amazing and I would recommend this program to ANYONE! \r My children have been apart of YCOA in Arizona since 1999, participating in Karate, Cheer & Hip Hop. One child was on the Hip Hop Performing team from day one until 2012, when she turned 18 & decided to go full time to work & school so she had to quit the team. While on the team, she made many friendships she might not have notherwise had and had the most amazing time. Her coach, Laura, always made a point ot make sure that she & the other team members always felt they were #1. \r My other children are also part of YCOA today. Laura is amazing and loves every child she coaches. As a former TBall coach of many years myself, you CANNOT please every parent. Pleasing the parents should never be a priority. The children and their safety/happiness should always be priority. This is, after all, a childrens program. \r You will be required to buy a uniform as just about any program you enroll in. It does say that on their website so you know ahead of time and also gives pricing so you aren't signing up with any financial shock. The YCOA program will work with you if you have financial difficulty in paying for classes or uniforms, just give them a call or email them. They will work with you.\r I have been volunteering my time with events and coaches since 2001 and continue today. I am looking forward to classes starting again! If you plan to take hip hop, I recomment Coach Apache! I started working with her when she coached my daughter (who is now 20yrs old and out grew the program) and now my little guy, 8yrs old is in her class. She is amazing and LOVES her little bboys and bgirls! more

Young Champions of American in Houston 9/9/2010

This is the worst organization I have ever encountered!! My daughter joined this group in Sept 2009 and it has been a headach every since!! The man that runs the Houston area is so unprofessional and needs to be replaced. I would never recommend anyone putting their child in anything that has the YCOA logo on it. They are a rip off!! You will be required to purchase uniforms and shoes (and it isn't cheap). We put so much money in to this and then they decided they wanted to cancel our location. Now we are stuck with shoes and a uniform that she will never use again!! This company needs to change the way they run their business!!!!! more

Bad Habits 4/30/2010

Ycoa has a problem with bullying. Laura is the coach of the performing cheer and hip hop she ignore and allows bullying. If you decide to allow your child to dance or cheer with her and your child gets bullied don't expect Laura to solve the problem. My sister quit Laura's performance hip hop team for this same problem. Laura chooses to ignore the bullying because she has no order or discipline with her team. Not only does she have a hip hop and cheer performing team but she is the company's director and teaches classes to compete in the showcase. She only has three kids that show up in hip hop and uses her advanced performance team to fill in the spots which is not fair. Many instructors who are really good have quit because she and her supervisors are unprofessional. Pros: Cheap Cons: Laura(LV) Holt more
