There are many choices in the neighborhood for chinese pastries. Yi Mei is amongst the more well-known bakeries. It as several locations throughout NYC. Prices are fairly average. They have a good variety of sweet and meat-filled pastries/buns. And they also have a selection of cakes ready-made to order. A variety of tapioca (aka Bubble tea) is served here but I think they are below par with some of the other bakeries in the area. They are better known for just their pastries. I prefer their meat filled pastries because the bread is tastier than other bakeries.
If you plan of visiting, it doesn't hurt to try since most items are under a dollar.
