Well let me first off say that I have been to this place about 40 times in the past couple years and enjoy the food quite a bit, BUT...As of recent the owner/management have lost what really made them popular in the first place, appreciation for the customer.
I started going to this place well over a year ago when it first opened and you could walk in any day of the week at any time and there would be a good chance you were one of a handful people in there. Now that they have gained a reputation (mainly from word of mouth, because their advertisement campaign is non-existent) for being great sushi in a pretty upscale neighborhood they just don't seem to give a damn.
In the past month, I had been there multiple times, once with a group of 5 friends. We had been squished into a 4 top table and when we asked the waitress if we could move, she said that it would be fine. Then the manager comes over and states that we were unable to move and that we had to put a chair on the end of the table in the middle of the walkway. The restaurant was not full, not even close to full; and when I asked him why he said there was a reservation for that table in an hour and a half!!!!!. I made a comment to him asking him how 5 people were going to sit at a 4 top all ordering sushi, drinks and appetizers he just shrugged and walked away. Then a couple minutes later, he came over and said we could move to the larger table but we HAD to be out within an hour. I have never been told I had to be out of a restaurant especially one of this stature. Being that there were 5 people each getting alcohol, appetizers and sushi, the bill was over 175.00 and the manager did not give two thoughts to losing a table that night, and a group of people who have been patrons since it had opened and helped it grow.
It's going to take a lot for me to go back and spend money when I feel like I'm not wanted, last time I checked, I am paying the bill so they work for me when I am dining there. There are PLENTY of other good sushi restaurants in the area and I'd rather spend money at Nikko, Enso or the new Cyros in Southpark before I go in there.
Pros: Great Sushi, Upscale
Cons: Ignorant Management, Lack of Customer Appreciation
