Unfortunately we had a bad experience with YaDa Chef this Christmas Eve. We used them once before and they did a nice job cooking for 2 so we gave them this bigger event to cook for. This event was for 27 people and they totally mishandled it. What was the worst though was their lack of concern for the embarrassment they caused us, showing no remorse or apology for their complete lack of professionalism. To me that is the most important part of a service company, to actually apologize and try to make good. I'm left with the only option to warn others of their poor business practices.
First off, they were the center of the evening, cooking up dinner in our kitchen in front of our guests. To our shock, the cooks and poorly trained staff didn't use gloves for anything and even posted a picture of their fingernails in our food on their Facebook page along with photos of our house they had nothing to do with.
They brought the wrong menu of food to us and served the smallest portions of food to our guests you could imagine. Imagine, they served spaghetti with capers under cold chicken and veal and one piece of broccoli for each person, with not a bit of extra food for anyone. We provided them with a full menu which they agreed to which included fish, fingerling potatoes and NOT pasta, and gave them no indication to skimp on food. The food was so cold our guests sent it back with upset Bryan and he rushed his way out the door, obviously to another event, leaving us poorly served and hungry.
Their servers did not know how to cut lemons, serve appetizers, made a mess (you can even see them on the photos they posted), and we had to have our event coordinator stay extra to save us the embarrassment and have her serve drinks.
I can go on and on about how they brought our Xmas eve party to become the family joke now, but the worst of all was their lack of empathy for the mess they know they left us, with their explanation being only a shocking 'It is as it is'. No apology, no refund of any kind.
