Great Jamaican Cusine 4/7/2012

My first experience with the food from Ya Mon is when a friend bought some over to a get-together. Although I was the host I didn't get but a taste so I asked the friend to leave the name and phone number to the place. I looked them up and decided to try a Jerk chicken dinner. The best I've had and I live in the city where I've given a number a restaurants with this type cusine. Ya mon is by far the best. Food so flavorful and they are customer friendly. Made you feel as though you were their best customer and this was a first visit. As promised over the phone and a Saturday night . It took only 20 min. I would suggest GodsStar give em another try. more

South suburbs Best Jamaican Food 11/11/2011

This is by far the best Jamaican food in the South Suburbs and I'd venture to say in the Chicago area. I've eaten at just about every Jamaican/jerk restaurant over the last 15 years. I love their food and hospitality, this makes a big difference in setting the atmosphere for good food. They always smile and greet their customers. Each year they get busier and more popular. everything is good and flavorful. I'm torn between the jerk chicken and catfish. I've never been disappointed. I pray they expand and franchise. more

I've been going to Ya Mon Jamaican Cuisine for the last 3 years and they remain the same. Great food and good service. The best Jamaican homestyle food ever. Pros: Friendly family atmosphere for a take out restaurant Cons: Extremely busy on Fridays & Saturdays more

Best Jamaican Food in the South Suburbs 5/26/2010

I started going to Ya Mon about two years (I began working in the area) ago and have never had a bad experience. Their food is delicious, hot, and authentic! I have been to other places in the south suburbs and trust me...you shouldn't even waste your time...Ya Mon is the best!!! Pros: Excellent food, every single time! Cons: The food takes about 15 minutes...so call ahead.. more

True Homemade Jamaican Cuisine!!! 7/23/2009

LOVE Ya Mon! We got married in Jamaica and found this place after we got home! We are now like old friends with all of the family at Ya Mon :-) Great home cooked Jamaican food from the plantains to the Ting! Call ahead, they may occaisionally run out of something, it is just that home cooked :-) Pros: Excellent Jurk & Curry Chicken! Cons: It's sooo homemade they may run out of something! more
