Haircut 1/16/2012

My friend and I stumbled across XEX while visiting Chicago for the Holiday's. I had no time to visit with my stylist back home, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Our stylist was Gary & John. My friend decided to get her haircut with John, because Gary did such an amazing job on my hair. John was just as great as Gary she is was very pleased as well. The experience at XEX was very pleasant. The staff was very friendly, the salon looked great, loved the glass artwork. Next visit back to Chicago, we will definitely return to XEX!! more

Haircut 12/20/2011

Last night was my first visit, and I'm now a fan.\r \r Prices are fair, not crazy, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is chic and clean. Charles the front desk manager fit me in at the last minute, my haircut mani and pedi was great . Keara was my stylist she's a real pro - I will definitely be back.\r \r more

Great Haircut 12/1/2011

Let me just say that-I was super impressed by this salon and all my expectations were met when Gary cut my hair. I have had many bad haircuts in my life. He was professional and funny and pinpointed the perfect cut for my face. The salon was extremely busy, and all the clients looked very pleased with there stylist. If you are looking for a salon XEX is the way to go. more

Haircut 9/21/2011

I found this place more out of Convenience than anything else since i work in the Leo Burnett building, that being said I have been there two times and always gotten a great cut. Once from TJ, the other from Keara both are equally great at cutting and styling my hair. XEX has a great vibe, and I amazed my appointments are always on time.I leave XEX feeling well taken care of. If you need a haircut in Chicago, this is the place. more

Great for Wedding Parties 9/11/2011

I typically don't write reviews for companies, because I expect great service when you are a paying consumer. This is a well deserved review. I was a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding party, and XEX was the chosen salon for the bridal parties hair. It was a total of nine people in this party, and we were all treated like royalty.\r \r We arrived ten minutes early to the salon, upon entry greeted by Charles the front desk guy . He immediately got us all drinks, water, coffee, etc.. All of the stylist were ready to go. Most of us was unsure of the hairstyle to go with.. This was definitely a team of professionals, patient & very confident. I am so impressed with this salon. Very colorful, great energy, extremely professional people. The next time I am in Chicago I will visit XEX again!!!!\r \r more

Great Experience 9/9/2011

Words cannot explain my experience at XEX!!! I couldn't be more happier with my experience. Last Friday I had an appointment for the first time. Georgia was my stylist, she was very knowledgeable about products, and styles. We chatted about different looks that would work best for me. She was very personable. While my hair was processing I was offered a manicure at 50% off with Charmain the nail technician. Charmain was great, gave me a very good manicure within 30 minutes. My blonde highlights looks so natural, and healthy. The haircut was exactly the way we discussed. I must say, I had the very best service at XEX, and again couldn't be happier with my service. more

Found new salon!!! 8/12/2011

I decided to try this salon after a friend referred me. If you refer a friend your friend will get a discount as well as yourself. Amazing and professional service. I have been wanting to get a new style for a long time, and Gary was awesome!! I showed him a few pictures of what I wanted and he took it from there. I love, love,the outcome.Aside from the great work, what really impressed me was the service. Upon entering the salon greeted and offered cold beverages. Great conversation, I was looking for a place for dinner, they gave me a list of places to try. It was awesome. On top of that my nails were looking terrible, they have a manicurist on staff (Charmain) she offered me a manicure for 50% off as well. Charmain was amazing as well, again great service!! I have found my home salon...finally! more

BEST SALON IN CHICAGO 8/2/2011

I love walking into a Salon and feeling important. When I come to XEX, I get the same wonderful experience and results everytime. Doesn't matter if you are a first timer or regular guest getting a trim you are welcomed right away by Charles at the front desk, and then you are off for your haircut, color, highlight, blow dry, style, and you'll walk out feeling GREAT! I RECOMMEND XEX TO EVERYONE!! more

Great Hair Salon 8/1/2011

I've been coming to XEX for about a year now. I have had the pleasure of working with two stylist here. John & Barbara both of them are great. I originally came to XEX because I was getting bored with my old stylist, and I wanted to try someone new. I showed John a picture of a haircut that I wanted. He gave me exactly what I wanted. My second visit was just as great Barbara followed John's orginal cut, and again a great experience. I love my haircuts from both John and Barbara. I love that they made my hair look good even in the ""growing out"" phase. The staff is great as well as the ambiance. Try XEX you will not be disappointed!! more

Best in town 7/21/2011

I decided to try XEX for the first time. I teach third grade students, so I wanted a young but conservative haircut. When I called to make the appointment the receptionist was very friendly. My stylist was Barbara, she is a senior stylist, and she knows what she is doing.\r \r I told Barbara what I was looking for, and she made recommendations. We decided to go with the classic bob haircut. I left XEX feeling very good about my haircut. XEX is great. \r \r Thank you Barbara!!! I will be back more

Great atmosphere, friendly owners, great services 1/22/2010

Gary and David, the owners, are incredibly nice. Their entire staff is nice, fun, and lively and I always have a great experience when I visit. The gallery is clean and the decoration is adorable. There are pieces of artwork throughout the entire salon (available for purchase). Pros: Contemporary, clean, and friendly staff more

Best Customer Service from Start to Finish 2/25/2008

Making the appointment by telephone with the friendly staff is a big plus. You are welcomed into the shop by a cheerful receptionist and proficiently highlighted and expertly cut by the winsome staff of Tracy and Dana, respectively. Everyone says, ""hi"", and by the time you leave you look and feel wonderful. Dr. Shanna is really terrific, too. She did a great job getting rid of my tension. GREAT hair salon without the snobs 12/4/2007

I've been going here for the last year and love them. I also work in the building (Leo Burnett) so it's convenient. But I'm very picky about my hairstylists and have tried 4 or 5 since I moved here 2 years ago. Tracy does a wonderful job on my highlights (she was awarded Colorist of the Year from Aveda and uses all Aveda products). Gary cuts my hair and always gives me cute cuts that fit my hairtype and the trends. He's Italian and travels around to NYC, London, and Italy to start salons with a company (not sure of the name) and keep up on the latest trends. I've gotten so many compliments recently from my cut and color. The prices aren't any better or worse than any other salon. I think it's $55 for a woman's cut and $95 for highlights. But one of the best things about this salon is that NO ONE that I've met there has a snooty attitude. So if you're looking for a great place to get your haircut/colored where people are genuine, this is your place.
