Wood Acres gave my son the ideal start 10/9/2012

It has been many years since my son attented Wood Acres but it influenced his entire life. He entered at Kindergarten and had Ms. Neal as his teacher. She set the course for his entire education by making learning fun. He always had great teachers at Wood Acres. At that time the school only went to the fifth grade. Three days after he entered Crabapple Middle School his teacher wanted him tested for the gifted program. He got in. At Roswell Hiigh School he took enough AP course to skip his entire freshman year at college. After college he was accepted at all 4 law schools he applied to. He is now a practicing attorney working for an American corporation in Canada. Wood Acres opened the doors for his education and I can not thank them enough. more

Sucks 8/8/2012

The wood acres school sucks. The teachers are hypocrites, they favor certain students, and the kids are learning things that college students learn, and the teachers expect them to learn it in two days and ace a test. I could rant about the school all day. DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL. more

A Great School 5/22/2009

The Wood Acres School is a fine institution. From the minute you arrive on campus, you can feel the energy. The class sizes are small and the teachers are amazing. The curriculum is challenging and the staff guides the students to academic success. The school offers science, spanish, computer, art, PE, music, etc. Most of this begins in preschool. The Head of school is a brilliant lady. She is always finding new ways to improve the school. She runs a disciplined school that encourages creativity and freedom to excel. You always hear Wood Acres teachers say."Our students soar at this school". I am proud to call this school my daughter's second home. more

Love this school! 4/21/2009

We have been at this school for 5 years and I have done everything in my power to make sure my son can stay there. Class ratio is 12 to 2 this year, you can't get better than that, and the level of education is amazing. The kids don't memorize and regurgitate info, they know it and love it. They also know HOW they got the answers and WHERE to get the answers. They teach resources as well as material. Some complaints from other parents that the owner isn't willing to consider other peoples ideas, well...in my opinion, if their ideas are so great, where is their school? Judy has served the time in public school, she has the know how to make this school a success with the *support* of parents, nothing more. Classes are equivalent to AP classes in public school without all the homework. Teachers get the job done during school hours, so family time is just that. This school is rich in cultural arts and takes every opportunity to relate what the kids are learning to something outside of school. This isn't a school that can't afford paper, they go on four field trips per year, and travel overnight starting in the 4th grade. Teachers are loving, caring, happy and smart. Everything from academic programs to the school lunch is well thought out and stellar. This is a place where each child is celebrated for their differences and not molded into what the child "should be". They are free thinkers, allowed to express, encouraged to challenge, respectful, well behaved, trusted by the staff, children. I simply can not say enough about the quality of this school. more

Excellent Private School 9/4/2005

Wood Acres provides the kind of education that no longer seems to exist in our public schools. Small class size, high (but reasonable) expectations and emphasis on success as well as being a kid! In addition to the normal academic classes, they also have a computer lab, language classes, art and music. They offer a before and after school program as well as summer camp. This school has it all! They have classes for two years old through fifth grade. What a great opportunity for your child to have continuity of education...stay at the same school preschool through fifth grade! more
