If you are interested in a new pet addition to your family, I would strongly recommend checking here first. The building is large and spacious. Animals are kept in clean, roomy , comfortable spaces and are very well taken care of. The staff does their best in order to make sure that every animal finds the right home. I have over time adopted four cats from this organization, and they have all been wonderful. The Humane Society also offers an amazing wildlife rehabilitation center, which takes in and cares for injured wildlife. They do really remarkable work. Adoption and surrender fees are reasonable and the hours are really good. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. more

The WHS is a great organization. They have hundreds of animals that need good homes from puppies, and kittens, to adult cats and older dogs. There are so many friendly, well trained pets that need someone to love them. They also have a great wildlife reahbilitation center in order to release undomesticated animals back into the wild after an injury. more

Wisconsin Humane Society. It should be one of the very first places you go prior to getting a pet. These animals are homeless. And for a nominal fee you can adopt one. Some critters, such as cats that are over one year of age, the fees for adoption are waived. Please accept the one month of free pet health insurance. We got one of our dogs here, and he was terribly ill. And spent well over $1,000.00 in medical needs in the first two weeks. The Wisconsin Humane Society is more than just dogs and cats. They also have rabbits, hamsters, and other small animals. There is a also a pet store inside. All profit goes back to Wisconsin Humane Society. more

The Humane Society is a great place to find a forever friend to take home with you. The selections of animals is great. (too bad it's in that kind of situation) When they take their animals in, they do everything they can to accomodate them and make their stay a good one. They also treat them great and try to find the best people for the animals to go home with. The staff is really great and helpful. They won't let you make the wrong decision when choosing an animal because you can take all the time you need to decide and play with it before leaving. You can even hold an animal to make sure it's the one you've been looking for. Adoption fees are reasonable and the hours are great. more

I am so thankful for the WHS. And they have a nice gift store inside. Cats that are over a year old are free for adoption. All other animals have a fee. PLEASE take the FREE month of insurance that is offered for the newly adopted pet. We adopted one of dogs from here. Do NOT believe everything they tell you. We were told that the dog we brought home was only 4 years old, in reality he was 11. Which does not make a difference to us, we just wanted an animal to love.
