Window Gang Of Chapel Hill

I hired Window Gang to clean my gutters. Seemingly, an easy job to do. They never cleaned them right and after 3 phone calls to have them come back and re-check their work, they never did anything. I have video and pictures showing water spilling from the top of the roof and coming down like a water fall. Spoke to the manager and refused to pay. They hired a collection agency to make me pay for work not done properly. The manager couldn't care less about my proof on video and called me a liar. The worst company I ever had the displeasure to do business with. more

I've been happy with this service before but was astonished to find out that their prices had gone up 50% since 2002 -- and they did two fewer windows in 2008. When I had made the appointment on the phone and mentioned that I had a $15 off coupon, they had told me that their rates had gone up but said that it would be by very much. They didn't mention their fuel charge in the estimate, so I had to pay an unexpected $3 after the windows were washed too.\r \r Unfortunately, I was very busy the day the crew came and forgot to give them the coupon. After they left, I realized my mistake ... and realized I'd just paid about $90 an hour each to two guys to wash my windows. I called the office to complain. They said they'd send out a guy out to re-estimate the job. I specifically asked them to let me know before he came but he just showed up unannounced. \r \r I offered the coupon to the estimator but he wouldn't take it. He said people just usually mailed them in with their checks. I said I had already paid so couldn't do that, but he still wouldn't take it. They did give me a partial refund after the job was re-estimated, making it only a 28% increase in six years for slightly less work. I mailed the coupon in requesting that it be honored, but got no response. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office. The Window G*ng told the Attorney General said that the estimator didn't remember that I had repeatedly offered him a coupon and also said that we had had tinted window film installed on several windows, which is simply not true. We do have screens between some windows but that had always been the case. The Attorney General's office said that The Window G*ng hadn't broken any laws so I should just go to Small Claims Court if I want to pursue this. Great consumer protection there.\r \r The crew was fine, but the customer service and management so bad that I'm now a very disappointed FORMER customer.
