Best

The rover is a kirkland favorite. I recommend the fish and chips. Great staff a beautiful location. HIghly recommended!

Worst

I've been there twice. I know restaurants have their second string cooks on these days, so my expectation were moderated.\r My first visit was a Monday night, and I had the lamb ...

Finally an Irish Pub on the Eastside 7/30/2006

My friends and I have been waiting for an Irish Pub on this side of the water for a looooong time. Wilde Rover definately hits the nail on the head. The staff are super nice and helpful; not the usual for the Eastside. It's not overly kitschy like some other Irish Pubs, yet is has a very warm and lively atmosphere like the Irish Pub's I have frequented in Seattle and other parts of the country.\r \r Try, the Corned Beef and Cabbage, your mother doesn't make it that good. I think my girlfriend had the Caeser Salad wihich said was on par with any other she's had. Good beer selection as well. Prices are reasonable and our server said they have two food Happy Hours daily, can't beat that. We haven't been for the entertainment yet, but we'll definately be back to check it out.\r \r Cheers. Pros: Food, atmosphere, pub atmosphere Cons: more menu choices more

Good Place! 7/26/2006

Now I have read the other two reviews listed on this site. I'm surprized by what was written in them. We have had a totally different experience. My first visit to this place was on a Friday night. It was busy but we were able to get seated right away. The the server was prompt and friendly. She did take a little longer checking up on us, however it was busy. I had the Fish and Chips which was excellent. The drinks we had were mixed well and not watered down or weak. There was a live band that played and made it interesting for some people watching.\r \r After our first visit we like it so much that we brought a group of friends with us. Again the seating was prompt and the service was good. It wasn't as busy as the first time. We had the sheppards pie and it was really good. Drinks were good. The friends that came with us said they enjoyed it and would come back.\r \r The last time we were there we brought some more of our friends, basically we feel that we have found a new neat place to go and want to show all our friends it. This time was on par with the other experiences we had there. This time we started off with the curry chips! These were so good, they were all I really wanted to eat.\r \r Over all if you haven't I would recommend this restaurant to other people. Matter of fact we will be going there this weekend! more

Give it a go, form your own opinion! 7/26/2006

I, for one, being Irish am getting a bit tired of the redunant ""irish concept"". What is it exactly, that you, being american, I assume because of your snarky remarks, makes you so up on the concept anyways? I understand you didn't exactly get what you were expecting, mind you. But to be critical on the owners concept of Irish? I've met him, on many occasions, he's neither rude, or unprofessional. And I'm not sure, but him being from Dublin.. makes him a pretty good at getting the ""irish concept"". \r I've been in there plenty of times, and I must say, yes, I have had a few run ins, snags, what-have-you. I've been for trivia night, World Cup and various other times with friends. I would NEVER force my opinion on anyone else. The only reason I'm writing this is I'm annoyed at the way you people post your ""opinions"". Just because YOU'VE had one bad evening, does that make the whole effort bad? Does that mean you can get on your soapbox and try with all your might to ruin what other people might have? (i.e. a good experience?? ) I loved the place.. It might not be as ""IRISH"" as you assume it should be, but the place is huge, they've done an excellent job with what they had, which I can say from experience with real Irish Pubs, real Irish concepts, and real Irish people. If you're going to be a critic, stick with what you know. \r To the owners, Billy & Ben, I believe you guys are doing a marvelous job!! From what I read, this is your first ""go"". I wish you the best of luck! Slainte! Pros: Great seating, friendly atmosphere. more
