After hearing many good things about White Hen, I had high hopes. WH advertised really cheap coffee as a promo to bring in new customers. I dropped in on a weekday around noon and poured myself a cup of coffee from one of their three carafes available. It looks like if you go earlier, there's more choices; there were as many as two dozen empty coffee carafes still sitting on burners that were turned on. Needless to say, the burnt coffee smell should have warned me.
Now, I'm a huge coffee fan. I've had really bad coffee before, but I've always been able to stomach it. However, after taking one sip in the parking lot, I ended up pouring out the entirety of a 20-some oz. cup into the grass near the lot. It tasted horribly burned, very bitter, and it smelled nauseating. White Hen, I'm ashamed.
