I've worked with and for a short time, for Westside Ambulance in Orland, CA. In my experiences with the company, the paramedic manager was always unpleasant to both his patients and the other agencies he interacted with on emergencies. There seems to be distain oozing from the staff every time they arrive at an emergency and they often try to weasel out of their responsibilities. Today I had to request them to transport a patient who had crashed his motorcycle at 90+ MPH when the front breaks of his bike loked-up throwing him over the handle bars. When the medics from Westside Ambulance arrived they were in a bad mood. They harrassed my partner and me for strapping the patient to a back board even though the patient was complaining of back pain after doing an indo at 90 MPH. Then they agitated the patient by telling him they were going to cut his clothes off (in a very curt tone). Then, after helping then load the pt and strap him to their gurney the ridiculed my partner because she had never used thier brand of equipment insinuating that she was stupid for not knowing how to operate it.
Pros: If you really need an ambulance and you're in Orland...they are the closest
Cons: They have horrible bed side manner and don't work well with other agencies
