I would not recommend this gym if you are looking to put your child on team. Their rec programs are okay, but I would check around for a different gym for team.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS GYM. This website is an example. All of these """"good"""" reviews are from Coach Jennifer herself. This place is FILLED with drama. Ask any of the coaches who have left or been thrown out because Coach Jennifer felt """"threatened"""" by them. Coach Jennifer is never at the gym because she sits on facebook all the time and bully's people who don't agree with everything she says. She has NO gymnastics background. If the truth hurts, Coach Jennifer, Camden Area Moms, Karin M, Camden M, Team M, Kim M, ...whichever personality you choose to use at the moment...so be it. more

I love Wateree Gymnastic Center. My daughter is on team and has been since June when we moved here from Fort Stewart, GA. This meet season we have been to 4 meets so far; still have a few more to go. The last one we went to my daughter got 1st on beam! The prices are very reasonable for all the actives they have at the gym. The staff is great and the coaches very knowledgeable!! more

""Mariah P"" (or Lisa M ) your post is nothing more than bullying. If you have an issue with someone, why not address it with the person/owner? Instead of trashing the person's name and reputation online? How are you even a decent person or actually ""helping"" anyone by posting nasty stuff like this? Seems to me like *you* make people's lives miserable. I would hate to be on your bad side. \r \r And yes, I do have kids at this gym. And they love their teacher and classes. And I am very happy with WGC as well. The staff - owner - and teachers are all very professional and very pleasant and helpful. The kids learn gymnastics, and are safe. Which is what I pay for. \r \r Hey, and please don't accuse me of being someone I am not, or by attacking the poor owner by saying this is her. 'Cause it is not. This is a terrible gym. The owner posts all these wonderful comments about her own gym, but I thought I should be a voice of warning. The owner is a bully and will make your life miserable if you go here. I wish there had been someone to warn me before going. I'm sure the owner will have this comment removed because she has every negative review removed. Hey, I have an idea, how about changing how you act and run a business, rather than bully people. more

My turn to jump on this wagon....\r WGC is a great gym, both in terms of the facility and coaching staff. My daughter attends here, and is - most importantly - safe here. She loves her coach. It doesn't bother me if a coach is out and she has a substitute coach. As with anything, coaches change or are out, just like at her daycare or with her teachers in school. But I know Coach Jennifer has always been the coach for team. She has trained each and every coach there since forever, so I feel comfortable with any of the current coaching staff taking care of my baby. (some coaches are no longer there, but that is a good thing IMO). Ladies, Monica is just Tracy Phillips, stirring up trouble again, lol :) more

Funny how a bunch of irritated, defensive moms can band together! :)\r I too am a gym mom. I think Miss ""Monica"" has a case of mistaken... identity. WGC is - the best. Period. Our gymnasts compete and train non-stop. Our coaches train all levels, and are the only gym in Kershaw County qualified to do so (which may be why they are a threat!) It is true that our team attends at least 7 meets per year. Oh believe me, it is almost every weekend of the year (it can be hard on the family, truth be told, but it is worth it)! I too am fed up with these made-up reviews, given how hard these kids work. And how hard their coaches work. This is just an attempt to put down hard workers and a phenomenal gym. \r The internet is a great thing, but also dangerous as it allows any person with a vendetta to post false stuff about people and businesses. \r Go Team Wateree!\r \r more

I did not have a very good experience with this gym. While the facility is nice and equipment is up-to-date, there is a lot of coach turnover, particularly in the upper levels. The gym does offer team, but they are not very competitive--only participating in one or two meets a year (if that). This gym is great for beginner gymnasts, but I would not recommend for higher level competitive gymnastics. more

Wateree Gymnastics is top-notch. My children are learning and are in good, safe hands. I can bring my kids to gym class, and watch them actually learn - in a comfortable and friendly environment. The gym itself is quite large and is filled with what you would expect from a USA gymnastics olympic club gym. Wouldn't take my children anywhere else. more

Wateree is a great gym. It is sad to see Tracy Phillips post below, as I know her from when she was (briefly) at the gym. When I was there, she was a pot-stirrer and frankly, I was happy to see her leave, as I can't stand gym mama drama! Her post is blatantly inaccurate (surprised the owner hasn't had it removed to be honest), and is really just a reflection of her own ""issues"". Don't even know who the other person is (probably Tracy again under another name!) but again, pfft to your ""mean"" post. more

When my kids are at WGC I know that they are being taught properly, and that they are safe. Their coaches are trained and knowledgeable, and classes are not run by high schoolers, or worse, by fellow students that are in a higher level class. I highly recommend this gym, to anyone in the area looking for high quality. more

Best gym I have ever trained in. I love working with the staff here at wateree. They are trained professionals who know what they are talking about. They are always looking out for the safety of the athletes. They never force an athlete to throw a skill that the athlete is not comfortable doing by themselves. They are always looking for new ways to teach a skill(s) that way the students/athletes dotn get bored doing the same thing every week. The owner is VERY Friendly and is easy to talk to and get along with. She is great with all the students. She wants all of her students to achieve their goals whether in gymnastics or tumblinig...SAFELY!!!!!!!!!!! I highly recommend that you check this gym out for yourself! more

Nothing but the BEST here! 5/17/2012

I have had the honor of being part of the WGC family for the past 4 years. The coaches and staff are all wonderful people. There is a low student to coach ratio for personalized training. This is a place where I know my child is getting safe, proper training form certified coaches and I would not take them anywhere else. You have tried the rest now come train with the best! more

LOVE this place! 5/17/2012

We are in our 4th year at WGC and my daughter LOVES it! We have been a part of the preschool program, recreational program, and Team Wateree and have never had an issue. I would never send my child anywhere else! The coaches are top notch, highly trained, and very professional. The team coaches take a specific interest in each child and help them perform skills to the best of their ability. If you want the best for your gymnast or cheerleader, RUN to this gym! You will not be dissapointed! more

Find a different gym! 5/9/2012

This gym seemed great at first, but we quickly had a terrible experience. The head coach is a nightmare to deal with. She is mean, plays favorites, and is quick to fire coaches and kick kids off team. Due to her poor leadership, most kids on team have either been kicked out, or have left. STAY AWAY!!! more

Not a good place to send your kids 4/13/2012

Although the recreational program/coaches seem okay, I would definitely NOT recommend having your child on the team at this gym. The training is not up to par, there are shady financial things going on, and recently there have been coaches fired, kids kicked off team and several others who have decided to leave etc. If you're looking for a gym, please take the time to look around and check into things carefully before signing anything. There are much better gyms around the area and would be worth a longer drive if you had to to go somewhere else. more
