Surprisingly good experience 4/6/2010

I was recently shopping for a set of four tires for my Explorer. A friend of mine said that I needed to check out Walmart before I made a purchase, so I did and I am so glad. Don't get me wrong, you will never feel like an honored guest when you go to Walmart, that is not what they are about, but the service I received here was really quite good. I went to the Tire and Oil Change counter. The man behind the counter greeted me with a smile and listened intently while I explained what I was seeking. He brought me over to the tires I had to choose from - basically two different brands of tires. He told me that he had owned both types and recommended one of them over the other (the less expensive one!). He estimated the cost for me and told me it would take about 45 minutes to complete the job. They completed the job earlier and for a couple of dollars less than his estimate. They left my vehicle free of any signs they were in there - other than the new tires of course - and I have been pleased with the result. Bottom line: You really ought to check out Walmart next time you need some tires. My experience was as good or better than other tire stores I have patronized and the price was MUCH more reasonable. Pros: convenient, good prices, reasonably good service Cons: waiting area dirty, limited selection more

BE SURE YOU TAKE YOUR CALM DOWN PIILS 8/26/2009

After 7 consecutive telephone calls I finally got to speak with the mgr. (at the time). The person who answered the phone 1st, puts you on ""HOLD"" if you must speak to the mgr. Last & 7th call was over 7 minutes long of which time was taken up by being on ""HOLD"". They just need training in telephone courtesy/effectiveness. All things being equal, I really like the store, it's convenient to my location, when you need help (and can find someone) they are always eager and polite to help you. I think I should apply for the job of telephone courtesy training!!!! Pros: Short drive from my house Cons: TELEPHONE CONTACT NEEDS TRAINING, BAD. more

Worst Store in Cary 7/26/2009

I've shopped in Walmarts for years and found the store never having anything I need. In fact, it is cutting back on items recently, ie. crafts area. The usual one line for returns goes past the restaurant nearby. I've written Walmart about it twice with no response.\r Why did Walmart open Supercenters in Morrisville and Holly Springs which are less populous than Cary? \r Also, it was posted in The Cary News that the Supercenter was slated to go up in the Broadstone Station Shopping Center in Apex? What gives?\r Driving almost 10 miles out of the way for better service is really crazy too.\r Cary is a great town but our Walmart is not a great store. Pros: Location in the Beautiful Town of Cary Cons: It is a mess compared to any Supercenter Anywhere more
