Small but good 4/14/2006

This is like the Waldens of my childhood. These stores were always small either in a mall or on a store front. They carried all the latest best sellers. This one is in the center of Needham and since I went on a weekday afternoon, there were some kids hanging out talking about comic books. I thought it was kind of cute because the local bookstore is a great place for kids to hang out. The staff seemed very tolerant of the kids talking in the book store and they didn't seem the least distracted by them. I have a much nicer image of Walden after that experience. more

Nice Little Bookstore Chain 3/20/2006

I love shopping at this particular Waldenbooks. It's right on Great Plain Ave, which gives it the small bookstore feel with the big chain possibilities. The atmosphere is very inviting and well organized. Every time I stop in, I'm helped right away. Sometimes, I'm just there to browse and the staff respects that. Other times, I'm on a mission and they do their best to get me that book I want. They also honor teachers with a 20% discount, which is very helpful as I try to build my children's books library. more
