Truly Integrative Medicine 3/25/2016

New to the area I researched veterinary clinics trying to find a truly integrative practitioner. It's not easy since many vets claim to be holistic who are not. Plus they charge high fees while giving truly integrative practitioners a bad name.\r \r Dr. Glenn Nielsen, DVM is the real deal. A knowledgeable, kind and caring veterinarian, I went in expecting the worst and got the best. I highly recommend him. Wonderful! 4/1/2013

Dr. Glenn was my mother's vet for almost 40 years and when I moved back to Minnesota, I told her I needed a vet for my son's service animal. After my mother told me that he was still practicing, I quickly made an appointment and Dr. Glenn has been my vet ever since. He is compassionate, truly cares for the animals he treats and has always been there at a moments notice if needed after hours and has shown great compassion for not just the animals but their owners also. I recommend him everytime a friend is looking for a vet. more

Don't go here!!! 10/10/2011

This so called "vet" could've cared less about my kitten. He paid more attention to my boyfriend and I by asking me if I had children and he kept bringing up his weight problems. The first thing we heard from him behind a door, was him yelling at his nurses for eating all of his reeses pieces.. Not very professional.. I didn't appreciate how he handled my kitten either. He tossed her around a bit and then just continued our visit by talking about how he was too fat and he needed to loose weight. I was very unpleased and uncomfortable. Also, along with his rudeness, one of his nurses made a stupid joke about how when cats have their ears down in discomfort, "it's cute". I was extremely angry after leaving this office. I do NOT recommend this vet to anyone. I also talked to another person that went there and she told me that this doctor came straight out and told her that he 'hates' cats. Don't go here. more

Best Vet in Town 4/6/2011

Glen has diagnosed right on the money when other vets were miffed which is how I heard about him. He's been right on the money with all of my pets' diagnosis too. He rushed in after hours to meet me when my elderly pet had taken a turn for the worse. He truly cares about animals in general. I've been going there for over 10 years and I would recommend him in a heartbeat. more

Dr Glenn and his staff are top notch in our book!!!!! We took our dog Lilly there after being told 3 different things from 3 different Vets. Dr Glenn knew right away what was worng and asked us how we wanted to proceed. He took over Lilly's care, where the other 3 dropped the ball. Lilly then had complications and Dr Glenn showed us the utmost care and concern. He went back to the Clinic 2 different times 2 evenings and did "rounds" on her. Then calling us and letting us know how she was doing. Lilly and God had other plans and Lilly passed away. Dr Glenn called and gave us the news. He was so kind with his words and shared with us his sympathy. We went to pick up the body, to bring her home for her final resting place. When we first got to the Clinic, Dr Glenn talked to us and explained what had happened and again expressed his sympathy. When we went to get the body he again came out and talked about grieving and what to expect. What a wonderful and caring man!! He is in more

Dr Glenn spent extra time explaining issues pertaining to my dog Maggie in regards to her dental health. But what mattered most was the compassionate time he spent talking to me about my Maddie who had passed unexpectedly in December during surgery. Dr Nielsen had not ever even treated or seen Maddie... Maddie had just been diagnosed with a right lung tumor. Two days later Granite City vet called to say her heart had stopped beating and she went into resp distress during an unnecessary surgery. Dr Nielsen helped me gain some understanding of the grieving process. He also explained complications of cancer and surgeries, I appreciate his thoughtfulness and concern for MY well being. Thanks Dr Nielsen.. more

Waite Park Pet Hospital is the best! 9/23/2009

I think this is the most caring and kind Vet I could have ever hoped to find. He took care of our beloved cat, Zino in the best manner possible. I would recommend this man and his wonderful staff to anyone at all. more

I used to go to Glenn, but after a few visits realized he obviously doesn't like cats. Prices are good if you can put up with his arrogant demeanor. He makes you feel like an idiot when you ask a question. I agree with Adam and have had a similar experience. more

Glenn & his staff are wonderful! 4/23/2009

I take all my animals to Glenn and his girls. They all truly care about the animals they are caring for. I had a beloved dog of mine get hit by a car and die. I called Glenn (very upset) after hours to see what to do with the dog. Glenn was quick to offer to come in and meet me at the clinic to take possession of him and then he never charged me for his time. \r \r I highly recommend Glenn and his girls. If you are going to the Vet to hear only what you want to hear, don't go to Glenn. He is going to tell you the truth about what is right for your dog (or cat's) health, no sugar coating things. \r \r This clinic does not overcharge either. I used to take my dogs to another clinic in the area and they charged almost double for the same procedures. Reasonable prices and great service. What else can you ask for? more

This guy is a prick. He choked my puppy just to make him submit. He is on some sort of power trip. Anyone that has to hurt a dog to gain there respect is stupid. How would he like it if I choked him to make him submit to me? I would never recommend this guy ever! more

Most Competitant Vet in area!!! 9/24/2005

Dr. Nielsen is solely about the health of your pet. He will tell you point blank to stop giving your animla things that are not helping it's health. He doesn't care that you like to give it to them. He wants your pet to live a good healthy life and not be sick. He is not out to take your money for stupid procedures. He does not do procedures he is not compfrtable with and will not do it with a premise that eh knows what he is doing if he does not. I have fired soooo many vets in this area for reasons all should be concerned about. more
