The experience that Andrew had with his new outboard motor was unfortunate. When he brought it to Voyager Marine for service, Nissan was contacted immediatly and the ""pre-inspection service"" was required by them before any warranty work would be authorized as the motor was purchased via the internet. Upon inspection the carburetor was found to contain contaminated fuel which looked like it had oil in it. The fuel system was cleaned and the motor test run. After returning to Andrew he had the same problem the next day. Nissan was again contacted, this time they admitted that they had a batch of bad fuel hoses that were contanimating the gas when left sitting for a periond of time. The fuel system was again cleaned and the hose replaced. When Andrew came to pick up the motor it was test run for him in a tank on the shop fuel. However it would not run properly on the gas in his tank. This was repeated several times for him but he could not accept that his gas was bad and took it personal.
