Worst Movers 5/24/2012

Worst ever. They arrive late by giving a lame example of truck broken down or whatever. They gave me an estimate of 2 hours + traveling charges for my 1 bedroom apartment (I had packed everything..they just had to move to the adjacent apartment). But I ended up paying for 4 hours + the travelling charges. The moving guys did not have a dolly or tools to dismantle my bed. They were picking up single item at a time to just increase the time. They are horrible and I do not recommend them at all. more

The Worst 10/4/2011

Brokered to do a moving job by Budget. They are the worst. Unreliable, never return phone calls, undependable, careless. They padded my Binding Estimate by 37%. (WHICH IS ILLEGAL ACCORDING TO DOT) Forced me to pay additional cash upon delivery or would not deliver. Many household goods were damaged or destroyed. Artwork damaged. Furniture scuffed and gauged. Some electronics were missing and oh yes...my antique library table valued at approximately $3000 arrived in 5 pieces. STAY AWAY! more

STAY FAR FAR AWAY 8/5/2011

I was referred to this place from a friend, who's aunt was dating the owner. Well I checked the BBB and they had an F rating. I asked Clarence, the owner about this and he assured me he would be on the site supervising the work. Issues 1) Kids with no experience showed up to pack me 2) They did not wrap the furniture before moving it out of the house, I pointed this out, yet it continued (I sould have stopped then) 3) They showed up in a rented Budget truck 4) I was told it would be delivered by Monday at 1pm central. at 12 I was contacted and told that the truck broke down 5 hours away, and that they were working on getting a replacement. 5) I asked for the budget issue number (I had a bad feeling already). When I called Budget I was told that Clarence would not be given a new truck. 6) I found out he had an outstanding debt with Budget so they would not rent him another truck and were repossessing the one he had 7) The next day he calls me from Penske and says I DON'T HAVE A CREDIT CARD AND THEY WON'T RENT A TRUCK TO ME WITHOUT ONE, CAN I USE YOURS. 8) I pay for the truck for him to get him up here. 9) His crew shows up three days late, he IS NOT WITH them, and will not answer his phone. 10) As the crew was unloading, I found SEVERAL damaged items. including: a) Antique dresser b) Antique lamp c) Cherry desk d) King size mattress e) Custom lamp f) Three pictures g) Headboard h) Table leaf i) 2 leather couches Well like an idiot I did not opt for the extra insurance, which he never offered, and now they tell me that I only get 60 cents on the pound. I get like 225 bucks for 3,500 in damages. So, he showed up in a rented truck, with inexperienced, poor movers, left late, broke down, couldn't get another truck, and when he did I had to pay for it, my stuff was broken, and I haven't heard a word from him or his office. This is a real review, and I am being as direct as possible, stay far far away, read the other reviews, check out the BBB website. THESE GUYS ARE NOT TO BE DEALT WITH UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with any company. Stay FAR FAR away. I can not warn you enough. more

CROOKS & EXTORTIONISTS 7/25/2011

I wish I would have read these reviews before I did business with them. I could write a book detailing how poorly my wife and I were treated during our move from Florida to Texas. Agreed to $1815. They showed up 4 days late to pack the truck. They didn't have any furniture pads. Drivers claim Clarence didn't fund fund fuel costs. Took 5 days to get to Texas, originally told 2. Held furniture hostage in locked truck until I agreed to an additional $500 and give Clarence credit card number over the phone. Driver had broken ribs, no help at all, did not bring anyone to help. I had to contract local help to finish move. Clarence called back after 5 days saying he lost credit card number. I had to laugh at the prospect of instant karma. He should be out of business. He's a very, very dishonest man. There's a lot more to this story but I've hit most of the major points. Avoid this company. more

review from a former employee 6/2/2011

This company will rip you off. They made us get inaccurate weights of shippments in order to be. Able to charge their customers more money. They do not have proper equipment and the equipment the do have is unreliable. The pads they use to ""protect"" you furniture are extremely filthy. They do not do criminal Background checks or even train their employees on proper moving techniques. I myself have witnessed theft from several employees told the ""general manager"" Steve holling that employees sere stealing off the job and he did nothing the owner clarence vogt just rolled his eyes. The company itself in a whole is absolutely nogood. They do not care about their customers all they want is your money nothing more. If your shippment is damaged you might as well write it off because you will not be compensated for any claim. If you do decide to hire this company for any of your transportation needs do not expect your shipment to arrive in one piece or in whole and expect to be way over charged. They even used to be an agent for arpin van lines. And arpin vanlines revoked their right to use arpins name because. Of how they run their business if you are looking for a good moving company with a good reputation that serves madison look else where\r \r \r \r more

Poor Poor Experience 5/24/2011

We made a big mistake in hiring Vogt Relocation. Our experience was horrible. \r \r 1. Moving crew didn't show on scheduled day. ""Truck broke down""\r 2. Asked if they could push moving day to day after closing. ??? Of course not.\r 3. Gave company 2 months notice regarding our needs and when move needed to be complete. Movers were to be done by 5:30 p.m. At 10:00 p.m. they were still there. Caused us to not be able to get cleaning done so we needed to come back the following day at 4:00 a.m. instead.\r 4. Signed a contract with a bid given of $2,300 to $3,600. The difference in price reflected how much work we did. The more we boxed the closer it would get to the low end of the bid. We packed 90% of our belongings.\r 5. When the job was almost completed we were told that we needed to pay $5,400. Over $2,000 more then the bid!\r 6. The company ""advisor"" called and stated ""we can split the differnce...you pay $4,400 and we will be happy"". What?! I explained that we should be splitting the difference between the high/low amounts of the contract. \r 7. Finally closing in on 11:00 p.m. the crew finally left. We paid the full amount.\r 8. The next morning the movers came back again and asked us againg to pay more.\r \r This company is CROOKED! Save yourself a lot of stress and frustration and hire someone else. \r \r P.S. I was forced to give one star. I would prefer to give NO stars. more

mover that dont back up what they clam 11/27/2010

I hire Vogt to move my house hold from an apt in Kaukauna to Appleton WI. I have had many moves in the state in the last 10 years. But this one was by far my worst experince. I feel Im fairly understand so when they called to say they would be late I was ok with that. Shortly after one of there crew was injured when he fell off the back of the truck, which came without a ramp. My wife ran him to the hospital. I help the two remaining guys to move boxes out to the truck. I didnt think I would need to help a full service mover but I knew it wouldnt be done if i didn't. The one mover, who went to the hospital, returned by taxi to the apt after the truck had went on to the storage unit. When they arrived at our new home, they had mixed all the boxes up. Make directing they to the coeet room was challenging. so mostly they put third the load in the living room and the other third in the garage and the rest distributed through out the house. One antique table had been damages (broke the marble top in half). As i was talking to the owner of the company on the phone. His crew droped my two year old front load washer down my basement stairs smahing the front and breaking the dispenser drawer off it. He had the his crew take photos of the damage to the washer. After the crew left we discovered many dings in walls and paint and wall paper damaged.I spoke with the company owner on four occations trying to get the damages paid for. I even told him if he repaired or replced the washer I would be satisfied. He made little or no effort to back up their claim to replace or repair any damage. I will never recomend this company I trusted to be honest and fair. \r \r \r more
