Dont take your pet rock here! 11/3/2010

Rating: -2. When I took one of my dogs & cat to this place I was looking to save a few dollars. I went in for an exam for my dog and to get some medicine for my cat. My dog is a panter so they did not check his heart because they said they wouldnt be able to hear it. Closing the dogs muzzle to stop the panting would have solved that issue. My cat was very sick. I told Dr. Stroberg the cat has liver disease and he wanted to do all kinds of test which I already had done at another vet. All I wanted was something to help with the cats vomiting which he wouldnt do without tests. By the time the vet left I was in shock by the lack of care I got. I stoped the vet on my way out and told him that my other vet would touch my dogs whole body checking for lumps and such and that he didnt even touch my dog. He looked me straight in the eyes and said he did check my dogs body. I told him that my husband & I must have blinked when he did it then. He didnt check my dogs ears or eyes either. Not sure what Dr. Stroberg conciders an exam but it wasnt what I was use to getting. The girls there seemed like nice people but I got the feeling the vet was in it for the money & not the care of the animals. It is really sad to see people in the medical field in it for the money & not the care of the patient. If you go here the quality of care is substandard & you wont get your monies worth either! Instead of saving a few dollars I threw $200 out the window. That was my first & only visit to this place! I would rather pay a few more dollars and KNOW that my animals are getting good care than to go to a place like this. This place is a total joke. The word "wellness" should not be used in the same sentence with this place! And the condition of the grounds here is so poorly taken care of you might think its a slum. Maybe the outside should give people an indication of what they will get once they pass through the door. I wouldnt take my pet rock there if it was sick because it might die more

Doctor from Hell!! 11/16/2008

When I declined to provide my employer's name, address, phone # AND Social Security #,the vet was INCREDIBLY cantankerous and demanded cash. When I agreed to pay cash, He then REFUSED to provide care to my cat! He would not even give me the documents that I had completed (I had provided my cell number & home address & was concerned about his manical behavoiur!) and then threw us out. We drove 30 minutes to Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital (used when we lived nearby) and received emergency care for free! more

I wouldn't send my worst enemy here... 2/28/2007

"Dr." Stroberg is rude, incompetent, unprofessional and has absolutely no interpersonal skills. When I questioned his 'evaluation' due to the fact he wanted to biopsy every organ in my pet for simple diarrhea, he treated me like an idiot, could not provide explanations for tripling my pet's dosage, extraneous costs on the bill or any other question I asked. When he realized he couldn't provide me with the information I deserved and was seeking, he stormed out of the room--the sign of a true professional, right? When I returned for lab results he asked me to leave the clinic--forgetting there are $400 worth of pending tests out there. There were also multiple examples of erroneous information in my pet's chart, leading to concern over proper care of my pet while she was at the clinic. He has made it evident to me that his primary concern is for his $$$ (quick to run any and every test available and put your pet on the most expensive medicine he can find) and not for my pet's well-being---please think twice before going to this clinic! more

Scientific approach to medical care for pets 9/6/2006

I have been quite pleased with my experiences with Dr. Stroberg at Church Ranch Veterinary Wellness Center. When I have brought either of my two dogs in with a problem, the vet has performed diagnostic tests and then based treatment on the results. He has been aware of what tests give reliable results and what tests give too many false positives/false negatives and has saved me the expense of the tests that are on the market, yet don't give reliable results. I personally like his scientific approach. It is the way human medicine is also practiced these days. When I go in, my doctor doesn't just look at me, say maybe it's xx, do yy--he runs tests first. I have been to other vets who don't use diagnostics or have referred me to specialists if I wanted them ($$$$). I am not comfortable with vets who just guess--they say try these antibiotics and come back if it doesn't get better. So I have found it refreshing that Dr. Stroberg uses diagnostic tests to make his diagnoses. Yes, they cost money, but I think his prices are quite fair. I am usually able to get an appointment on the same day I call if I wish, and there has never been an "emergency charge" on my bill. The only negatives I have experienced are: The exam rooms have not been clean when I have been there. There is always a fair amount of fur on the ground. Other vet offices I have patronized routinely sweep the floor and wipe down the exam table with alcohol after each use. The doctor's bedside manner is kind of cold and businesslike. He lacks warmth with both people and dogs, in my opinion. I can deal with that since I believe the care my dogs are getting is the best I have found in the area, but he could try a little harder on the interpersonal side of things. more

Take Fido and run, don't walk... away from this place. 7/22/2006

OH my goodness. This was our former service only because we needed a close to home location to use. NEVER again. Diagnoses that have totally missed the mark (they failed to recognize my dog had developed diabetes) fee piled upon fee, piled upon fees. I personally know three former clients that have called the State Veterinarian's office with complaints about these people. Oh and here's a tip, if you call for an appointment and it happens to be the same day you call, it will suddenly - and without your prior knowledge - become an "emergency charge" so they can try to suck extra cash out of your wallet. It's a big honking money vacuum, yes indeed. When you pull into the parking lot, know before you even step inside, you will be paying a hefty price for that fancy building. It must be hell for the employees too, because they are forever posting help wanted ads out on Olde Wadsworth for desk help among other minion positions. If I could give ZERO STARS I would. Guess I can spare one star, since there are actually DVMs working there that made it though school (in whatever fashion). more
