Vista Way Apartments

I lived at Vista Way during my 2 college programs in 1996 and 1997. They are your basic apartments but they do come furnished and complete with linens, cookware, towels, etc. You aren't living at VW to live in luxury you are living there to be close to WDW, to your workplace and to all the fun that is there. I had some of the best times of my LIFE while living at VW. I imagine that by now it is pretty out of date unless they have done some refurbishment but, like I said, you aren't staying there to live in luxury; rather, it is a convenient place to stay for the thousands of college kids who come from around the world to work at Disney. Granted I did college program about 6 years ago, but i stayed at Vista Way. There was an option provided to the college program kids to take ""rent"" out of the paycheck directly. I chose this option as did everyone else I knew. They just debited from our check prior to us getting it. Our paychecks were much smaller but the rent was taken care of and with 6 people in one apartment, it was easy to afford food. Other than that, this is not the place or experience you do to make money, its about much more than that. I loved my experience and after all the souveniers and other things i did while i was there, I didn't leave with much money but I was not at a loss either. :-) Disney is an awesome experience and I do recommend it. Although I will be honest and say that the Chatham Apartments are newer, cleaner and a little bigger than Vista Way. VISTA WAY APARTMENT COLLEGE KIDS BEWARE !!!!!!!! Please be aware of what you have to lose. My son went to the externship program at this resort. Totally we're out over $ 2500.00. Please be aware that the first thing the park will tell you is that they have nothing to do with the housing. Of course this info will not be available to you until you have a problem. You might want to contact the local sherrifs office to see if you could get the stats on how many calls are taken to the development and for what. DO NOT be fooled by the security when you drop you're child off, it does look very secure. It is your right and the schools right to ask about the security, their training and background checks. remember NOTHING your child has is insured by these folks. you must provide your own apartment insurance. You would think that a place like disneyworld would be secure. These children get paid very little but the hands on exp. is very valuable, but at what cost. Would i reccommend this for your child ? no. I believe that these security companies should be more controlled by the park itself. We the patrons guest/workers deserve more from this park. As of now I would never think of bringing my family to any of the disney resorts or parks after I found how the children were treated. My son is now home and the experience he received could have been much more rewarding at a different facility. more
