Vietnam Cafe Restaurant

We had heard great things about the food at this place, but we also had read that it was unfriendly. The only smile we received was from the woman who brought out the food. The waiter rushed us to order, and never came back to see if we needed anything else. The chopsticks and spoons are sitting in containers on the table, for everyone to touch. Not very sanitary. There are signs everywhere, telling you about the rules of the place. Reminds me of the ""Soup Nazi"" episode of Seinfeld. If they nice it up a bit, we will be back. While the fare at Vietnam Cafe may not be as broad as what is served in the great Vietnamese restaurants in Philadelphia's Chinatown, for those on the Bucks/Montco border caught in a serious ""Jones"" for Vietnamese food, this modest place will serve your needs quite well. One great favorite is the ""non-fried spring roll"", which is a masterful combo of pork, shrimp and veggies wrapped up, and served with a delicious brown peanut sauce that is out of this world. The shrimp, chicken and pork dishes are all excellent. Language is sometimes a barrier, even here in the hinterlands, and warm smiles and pleasantries are in short supply (perhaps that's just how they treat me), but for a good square meal at very reasonable prices, this is a place to keep in mind.
