Vibrance: A Hair Studio is the best salon I've been to. My mother referred me there: every time she went she came home looking amazing! I have naturally curly hair and had to start from scratch. I'm also 17 years old and I am very concerned with my hair. When I went to the owner, Melayne, she helped me tremendously. She recommended I get braids (which she does not do, but referred me to someone great) to help with my transition. I had braids for one whole summer, and then after I took them out, we cut all of my over-processed relaxed hair off. I have been her client ever since (almost 3 years). I have also witnessed other clients come in with unrealistic views of how their hair should be done. If you have natural hair and have never had it straightened, you should not expect to come out looking like Beyonce. It takes time. And also for the other reviews below me (the two bad ones), every experience for every person is different. What they have said is totally not true and she will not ""force"" you to wear your hair like hers. She has always told me that ""if you want it, we can do it, but you have to walk out of here with it."" Melayne is a very honest person and will tell it like it is. When she was helping me through my transition, she was very honest about what I needed to do with my hair and how I should be taking care of it. Many clients also don't want to take the time to listen to what the TRUTH is about their hair. If you have no hair to begin with or it's damaged so bad that all you can do is cut it, then what do you expect? And what I also don't understand is how someone who has NO EXPERIENCE doing hair can dispute someone who has OVER 20 years experience...It makes no sense. So with that being said, the bottom line is people don't want to hear the truth. You might not be ready for it, but the truth is the truth. You can put it off for only so much longer. Not only is Melayne very good, but her staff is also excellent. Her two assistants are very knowledgeable and very respectful. And another thing, you can only get respect if you give it in the first place. While sitting in Melayne's chair, many prospective clients have come in with attitudes and been very rude to Melayne while she is trying to help that person. The only thing any normal human would do is have an attitude right back. She might be a professional, but she is also human. I would recommend this salon to anyone who wants an honest opinion about their hair and wants to have healthy hair as well.
Pros: good HONEST service, very knowledgeable
