All show and no go!!! 4/22/2012

I don't mind paying a premium price for great hair, but when they could not even lift out my color the first time and tried another time, by then my hair was really dry. Then the toner or glaze wouldn't take. I should have jumped out of the chair and left, but they have such a hipe about their salon, I thought surely they'll get it right.\r ""Wrong"" I left with orange hair. Had to go to an actual color expert to get my hair the right color. Then I find out\r their master stylists or whatever they want to call themselves have maybe a year under their belt. Do yourself a favor and don't get caught up in this advertising. Told my husband ""Don't buy anymore gift certificates for veda"" It's been a while since this happened, but I'm still upset!\r Before that I had a facial and wanted microdermabrasion, well not at Veda.....they only believe in natural things....My skin looked just as natural as I walked in! Really guys who are you kidding! more

Feeling a little ripped off about massage 9/30/2009

I went to Veda for a 50 min. prenatal massage. It was pricier than I thought it should be, but I really wanted to get a massage on my vacation. I should have listened to my gut. I called beforehand and asked if I should show up early (my appt. was at 11) and they said I could, but it didn’t matter. I got there right at 11 and had to wait about 10 min. When I finally got to go back, I had to urinate, of course I am 29 weeks pregnant. Then, before we got started, the therapist wanted to have a consultation. It was probably about 11:15 at this point, but I couldn’t find a clock. The massage was okay, but parts of it felt really rushed and more like a friend applying sunscreen. It was right before lunch and her stomach was growling. Not that it’s her fault, but she could have had a snack or something- it definitely felt like she was running low on energy. She was sitting in a rolling chair and that probably explains the lack of pressure. The worst part was that she massaged my feet, and the next thing I know, she’s massaging my face! Definitely a no-no- I felt so gross. When it was over, I found her clock and noticed that it was 11:55. So, I got about 10 min off of my 50 min purchase- and I was on time! At a place this expensive, that’s not okay. I left a little less of a tip than I normally would- that’s all I could do at that point. The therapist was right behind me out the door to lunch! I wouldn’t recommend going here for a massage. Pros: Nice environment, Nice People Cons: More expensive than it's worth, cheated on time more

found a great salon that makes me wish I lived here! 9/1/2009

I was visiting my sister in Colorado Springs, and we always pass by this salon on Academy. It looked interesting and thought I would give it a try! So glad I did, because I LOVE my haircut!! Odessa was my stylist and she was fantastic!! I hope if she ever moves to Chicago, she will let me know. She was patient, helpful, and a joy to talk to. She understood where my hair needed shaping, movement - and fixed an area on my bangs that needed major help too. All of the staff were friendly and attentive (unlike the last salon I went to in Chicago). Since I was a new customer I was able to pick a complimentary treatment, and they gave me a gift bag on my way out. They even give you a card of the products used on your hair - so that you can go out and buy them. I left feeling great, and recommended this salon to my sis! They also have many other services, which I might try out next time I visit (massages, color, pedicures). Pros: friendly staff, amazing stylists, aveda products more
